  1. Getting really fed up here in Ohio after 4 months of dealing with a great service writer at my dealership, he gets transferred. The new guy knows nothing of what I went through or was promised. So he promises to talk to the service mgr and that he will get back to me before the end of the day and that he talked to him and they were going to solve this FM problem in house without waiting on GM. Well 2 1/2 weeks later lol I am still waiting on that call. Four trips to dealer almost an hour away and many hours waiting on them to find out that they know not what to do. I contacted the GM rep and was told she would get back to me right away...that was many weeks ago. This is not an isolated problem and GM is not a small company, so why are they ignoring their customers for so long and causing us to think about different vehicles. With todays technology I know they have employees that can resolve this. I have two other recalls on my truck but nothing still about fixing this radio
  2. the dealer tightened mine and even cleaned paint off to get a better ground and I still can not get my local station that I listen to with my other vehicles.
  3. thank you Jonathon for getting back to us. I gave my info to Jennifer
  4. I wonder why there is a line through my post?
  5. Just to let everyone know...I did hear back from Jennifer and here is a copy of her email: Mr. Roush, Thank you for contacting us about your vehicle concern regarding poor radio reception. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue with your vehicle. I cannot guarantee anything but I would like to look into this concern for you. Could you provide me your address, VIN, and current mileage? I understand that 1Cochran of Robinson is your preferred dealership, has the vehicle been diagnosed for this issue by them in the last 30 days? Best regards, Jennifer T. 6. that is not the case for me anyway as I can get the stations in clearly with my other vehicles in my area but not in my 2014 GM Sierra
  7. I'm in the suburbs or a rural setting but regardless of where we live the problem is that all other vehicles pick up the local and long distance stations and always have. The 2014 will only pick up very strong signals if you are close enough to them. When I travel with it on any FM station it goes out quickly and I hit seek to the next strong station and it doesn't take long for that one to fade out and in a short distance of 30 miles to a doctor appointment I had to hit seek 5 times! I live in Mingo Junction, Oh near Steubenville, Ohio and 20 miles north of Wheeling , WV where my favorite station is and have no problem listening to it in any vehicle but my 2014 GM. Pittsburg, Pa. stations always come in here but not on my 2014!!! If you live close to your favorite station , you may not notice a problem until you travel.
  8. I found Jennifer's email address and sent the following letter: Dear Jennifer: I have been told that you monitor the GM truck forum but as of yet we have not seen a response from you on the radio issue. I purchased a new 2014 GMC Sierra Z-71 from 1Cochran of Robinson, Pa. While I have made other trips to the dealer for waves and dents in my truck and a recall on the seat back cables; I also have made four trips for poor radio reception. They have taken antenna apart and cleaned paint off to bare metal for ground and tightened up the antenna. They have looked for an adjustment for weak fm staion but to no avail. They have tried shutting down the HD on each station and finally they even had me come up and take another 2014 home to see if it had better reception in my area. Nothing has worked and they have determined it is a problem with all 2014's. I am very tired of sitting in a waiting room for hours over and over. Also the trip is an hour each way being a two hour trip and with me being a diabetic and sitting there for hours, I have had to eat out at restaurants each time. This is getting expensive and my time is valuable as well.. I have found on the forum that this is not an isolated incident. I am 62 years old and never have I had a vehicle that could not pick up my favorite local station which is only 20 miles away and has a very strong signal strength. We would be interested to know if GM is aware of the problem and would like to know what are they going to do about it? I switched from a loaded 2012 Dodge Ram for this truck and now wondering if I made a bad choice. I do know that there is a lemon law in Pa that takes affect once you have been back for the same problem 3 times. I have put a lot of time and money into my truck since it left the factory. I had the dealer paint silver racing stripes on hood and tailgate and clear coated as well. I had spray in bedliner done. I had chrome step boards installed. I also have had dual exhaust installed. I take much pride in my vehicles and put much effort and time in them. When I purchase a vehicle I look for quality, performance, and style. I believe I have found a quality vehicle but very surprised to find radio reception problems in our day of electronics and knowledge. Do all the radios have this problem? I do not have a dvd player in mine but do have a cd player and a back up camera. If the dvd radio does not have the same problem then please upgrade me. I would have been willing to pay the difference but now that I have so many hours of time, miles on my truck, costs of meals, and price of gas, I think I am owed something for my inconvenience. My phone number is 740-275-2342 if needed. My email is [email protected] Thank you, Steven L. Roush Hopefully we will get somewhere with this now
  9. she must be on vacation then as we are getting no response from a GM rep!!! I bought my truck in Pa also and have gone in 4 times now for the radio problem. I don't want to give up my truck though. I just want it fixed. I have put a lot of extras on my truck including having the dealer paint on silver racing stripes and clear coating them.
  10. Well, where is the rep from GM????????? Please we need something done about this. I live in Mingo Junction, Ohio and I have never had a problem picking up 95.7 which is a Wheeling, WV station and only about 20 miles away and it is a strong FM station. I do hope that we will not be ignored for this problem. I am sure it is a problem on all the 2014 GM Sierra's but some live close enough to their favorite radio station that they have not noticed it or they don't listen to FM at all. My time is worth something too and I have made 4 2 hr round trips to my dealer for this and they can not figure out what to do. Not to mention the many hours I had to sit in a waiting room bored out of my mind too. And at today's gas prices it has cost more than my time also. I want a fix to the problem and re-imbursement all incurred.....PLEASE!!!!!
  11. how do you contact her? I have the same problem
  12. you may not noticed bad reception if you live in a big city area where there are many large stations. I live in a rural area but have stations within 20 miles that will not come in. I have been to the dealer 4 times and it is an hour drive one way. They have tried all kinds of things including having me turn off the HD but that did not help. So They had me drive another 2014 home and it was just as bad. I have 3 vehicles and the others have no problem picking up my favorite station nor did any of my previous vehicles. I think GM need to replace the radio, add a booster, or do something for us. I love my truck other than that.
