  1. At least 150,000 miles. How long do I think one is capable of without AFM? On par with Gen III and IV LS’s; 200,000+miles.
  2. I haven’t gotten the engine broken down yet to determine exactly but I do know the cam is done and there was misfire in 2 cylinders. While driving; check engine light blinking, stabilitrak flashing on and off and the oil PSI jumped to around 55-60 PSI. This of course after I had to deal with the 8L90 shudder that the dealer couldn’t figure out so I fixed that. If I keep the truck a built L8T is replacing the L86. The DoD/AFM kills these engines.
  3. My 2016 Silverado L86 failed at 102,000 miles 2 weeks ago. It doesn’t matter what year it is, how often you change the oil and take care it, it’s going to fail. These engines are a ticking time bomb and GM has known it for over a decade.
  4. I converted my 4x4 6.2 8 speed 9.76 over to 3.73 three years ago. The parts have been out there, just had to do some research. Yes, aftermarket has sucked but I’ve been happy with the AAM carriers and ring and pinion. Eaton is releasing 9.76 TrueTrac early this year so it’s now an option. It does require a spacer though from what I’ve read. I maxed out at 3.73 so I’m not running a spacer. My rear carrier is 23404621.
  5. I adjusted and lowered the front to 1 3/4 for some rake.
  6. The front Bilsteins are adjustable up to 1 7/8-2 inches. Call Summitt Racing and talk with them. I ordered mine from them. You can still have a front rake with those shocks and you won’t have to mess with control arms or other parts getting worn.
  7. I went with Bilstein 5100’s front and rear. You can achieve the leveled look but don’t ignore the rear. I replaced the stock 1 inch blocks above leaf springs with rough country 2 inch. Leveled isn’t really leveled. The ass end is gonna sag and looks terrible IMO.
  8. My 16 6.2 8 speed Midnight Z71, has the DSX E85 kit. I’m running ARH 1 7/8 LT with cats, Corsa catback, and Blackhawk CAI. I have an early 8 speed so tune was able to be done. I’ve done a gear change to 3.73. Running 22 in OEM wheels on 305 Toyo Proxes. Haven’t yet dyno’d the truck but have ran my SS sedan (LS3 6.2 Holden) from a dig against the truck and they’re nose and nose to about 60-65. SS is stock and rated at 0-60 in 4.5-4.7 sec. The E85 wakes these 6.2’s up, there’s no doubt. When I get an upgraded driveshaft on, I’ll dyno.

  10. For those that have installed a 2 inch front level kit on their Sierra or Silverado, what's the largest tire you've put on without rubbing? I want to put 33's or a little more on my Sierra.
  11. 2 inch Rough Country leveling kit installed.
