  2. This quote, better never than late.
  3. This quote, better late than never.
  4. Yeah most articles today appear to be paraphrased and you have to read between the lines or say hello to Google to fill in the gaps. Your article listed the largest, I read an article that listed the most, which is a benefit during this current rise. Texas, California, and Florida in that order. The beauty of Google.
  5. According California governor just now, the state numbers are still not good, but "overall" dropped by almost a percentage point over a rolling "14 day period".
  6. It's all about the optics now. Don't want to put the cart before the horse though, the brief tomorrow is just scheduled and subject to change. However, if no successes are what the government thought, optics would be the main reason to allow him to give briefs with the task force again.
  7. Allow a lead guy on this pandemic to be shut down from giving national briefs with the task force only to bring him back? Dr Fauci will be allowed to restart corona virus briefs on national network TV tomorrow. Some in American government believed by not allowing this guy to make network briefs that the virus would have been gone by now, right. More Americans trust what he has to say about the virus versus the American government, has to be charts somewhere. Dysfunction.
  8. If this level of dysfunction wasn't happening in America right now, I would not have believed it could happen in America. Let's agree the numbers are actually fudged and every test being conducted are 100% positive, does it really matter? The numbers can be 50%, it doesn't matter. We can't fudge a majority of ICU's and emergency rooms being near maxed out, regardless if the numbers are low or high.
  9. 2nd Corinthians, Chapter 5, Verse 7, ...
  10. The wife was chopping vegetables in the kitchen and I told her to slow down and be careful, we don't want to go to the emergency room. Not for fear of catching the virus, we're maxed out what we can do. But to ensure we keep the space open for the folks coming that do have the virus.
  11. Have not heard or read this, going to have to check it out.
  12. This was a mistake right, you set yourself up on this one! Got to unplug your ears.
  13. This is a dumb*** response for a smart guy. You make the point why I posted it. Kids are now suspected of getting the virus, whoop de doo that they're not in school.
  14. https://www.texastribune.org/2020/07/18/texas-babies-coronavirus-nueces-county/ This will be challenged on this thread, but doesn't matter at this point, just info. 85 infants in a Texas county as reported by the Texas Tribune tested positive for covid. One under 6 months died. If the report is true, kids may be the next shoe to drop in the country.
  15. Some call this a war, I'm ok with it but don't agree with the comparison. Being involved with every military conflict between 1980 and today, just awkward to compare. Regardless, I'm not used to losing a war. Even if we were losing, we executed a plan for victory. A lot of people in America are like "A Few Good Men". This thread is fun, but we're losing here folks, and are not executing a plan for victory.
  16. Integrity - the quality of having strong moral principles. It's not what you don't do when somebody's watching, it's what you do when somebody's not. Some people have integrity, some people don't.
  17. The emergency office responsible for reporting Florida's numbers had to shut down because 13 employees caught covid. The irony of that, how flawed exactly are those numbers they report? "The coronavirus thrashing Florida has penetrated the state's emergency operations center, a clearinghouse for disaster related information and command center of sorts for the pandemic response. A new set of cases caused the center, located in Tallahassee, to shut down Thursday as staff shifted to remote work. One official with knowledge of the events, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the evolving situation, said 13 people working at the center had tested positive for the novel coronavirus and that the office would be closed at least until Monday. Staff were in the process of clearing out essential equipment."
  18. That fact is not debatable, unless people believe their local doctors and nurses are lying.
  19. May be. But what about the elephant in the room called, May be not?
  20. I have not heard on any news that governor X asked governor Y what he did to combat the virus. I guess I've been around the military too long, but if there was a common enemy, a base commander would just call another base commander and say send me everything you did. Can't see how these states are spiking, especially after NYS had "zero" cases the other day.
  21. A flu shot may not be a bad idea this year. Listening to what covid did to my son, can't imagine the flu on top of that. May even build your immune system should you inadvertently open the door to that covid fella'.
  22. Listening to the news, ears perked-up when they said the CDC finally found the silver bullet for covid. They called it a mask.
  23. If you have the flu or an underlying condition that doesn't require hospitalization, then you catch the virus requiring hospitalization and die in the hospital, is it fair to say if it wasn't for the virus you would not have died? In this instance, I understand labeling it a 60/40 covid death versus underlying conditions.
  24. You being from NY, nursing homes, high death rate in your county. I regress, your numbers are probably correct. But that's where I'll stop the regression, I like everything else NY did in this pandemic.
  25. I'm going to take it as you didn't research this correctly. My county is 6 times larger and we have half the deaths of your county. But if your numbers are correct, not only should you guys be looking at canceling school, you need to be looking at cancelling Christmas too.
