  1. Pneumonia, which causes problems with the lungs can be irritated or initiated by covid. Symptoms and treatment are very similar with pneumonia resulting in 50K deaths per yr in the US. We are double that number of deaths in 3 mths for covid. Covid is conversation 1b in America right now, but if this slips to conversation 2 or 3, the death numbers can double the original 200K estimate by next Feb. We should be in the window for test results from conversation 1a (protest). Sidebar: Saw the ad-blocker comment on a different thread, yeah it's the bomb.
  2. Not as democratic on an Air Force installation I frequent that averages over 30 thousand people (95% non-military) on a daily basis. The lead guy/gal says you will wear masks. You don't get to argue an option, but can decide your option. If you're outside a vehicle not wearing a mask, military folks are snapped into place, non-military are directed to depart and/or denied entry onto the installation. As direct as it may be, it can change immediately with an email message.
  3. Hey, it's grown *** men on this forum. Trying to convince or reason your point is right, is not going to happen. People believe what they want to believe, not what a stranger on a forum tell them to believe. State your fact, get your likes, beat your chest, then "just breathe".
  4. I remember using foam upholstery cleaner with a brush to clean some grime left by a mechanic. Auto store brands are similar, try your favorite brand.
  5. Being nice on your part didn't work and being rude may not have worked either. What I would have done differently would be to not say anything and step up vs asking him to step back. Continue to go out because that's what will be needed along with a vaccine. Next time give him that I'm going to rip your head off look if you step closer after I step away, usually work for me. But then again, it doesn't hurt to be a 230lb weight lifter.
  6. You are correct with older folks. Although my 90 yr old mother has the tech, we have church together every time we talk. Even if there is a vaccine, she probably won't take it. So it will be a matter of when we're comfortable when she goes out.
  7. Been always taught church is where you're speaking and hearing the Word, didn't need a building to have church. But even if you're being smart or not, there's nowhere you can't get the virus.
  8. The thread may have run it's course, but the subject will run until a vaccine. People should leave their personal feelings out of forums and usually it's enough to keep Mods out. Hard to do though when a subject impacts all, differently.
  9. If I am a governor right now because the writing is on the wall, I am cutting police up to 40%, medical up to 30%, foodbanks up to 20%, and Fire fighters up to 10%. In that order. Educators, go ahead and stay home.
  10. Got it. If state's economies were jacked up prior to the virus, this is happening because of the virus. My point is, bad management or the virus, states better have a plan how essential work will be done. Not going to involve luck.
  11. Very good
  12. The writing's on the wall, at least in blue states. Relief from the senate to support essential services to those states will be slim to none. I expected educators, police, medical, food banks, then fire fighters furloughing in varying percentages in that order. For the most part, educators are already there.
  13. Yeah not worked up, just something I read. Ok, good to know.
  14. Sound like you are a NY resident. Hopefully NY won't need the cops and firefighters to use their pension some 50 yrs later.
  15. Read that cases in Korea were testing positive again, except the virus was dead. Don't know if that's what you mean, but they are allowing those folks to move around.
  16. With the couple of rounds of money, didn't we provide a round to the airlines? If I remember correctly, Boeing was in trouble before the virus and they received money to stay afloat. There is no way NY being decimated by the virus, be allowed to make a decision what essential services to cut because of money they are rightfully warranted. (According to your link)
  17. Thanks
  18. What do you attribute this to? More testing, more socialization, mutation, or what?
  19. Red or blue, right now blue is raising the flag. It will happen to red. Is your answer the same for a red state?
  20. NY does not have enough money to sustain police, hospitals, firefighters, schools, and foodbanks, what do you cut first to compensate? Sorry Ithan, schools will probably be the first ones on the block to go. I would cut all the power to Wall Street first to see what that generates.
  21. Unless you're in charge of hiring or firing, doesn't matter to any of us. But regardless of the affiliation, all of us care.
  22. I agree with that or else you wouldn't see most folks wearing a face cover. If I had to make a "new normal" choice, distancing would be more important. A face covering doesn't matter as much in wide open spaces or on the other side of the room.
  23. ...and, the federal government does not project a "suspected" vaccine until Dec 2020. Return to normal has to gap the area between now and Dec. Ok...
  24. Wasn't looking that way, but the answer is yes.
  25. Yeah everyone is entitled to their opinion, I disagree with that one.
