Yeah, the thermostat opens at 140. Instead of running through my radiator and the condenser, it will just run through its own cooler anytime the temp hits 140.
The brand is "improved racing", it's not a racing thermostat. What part of "I am looking to delete the factory trans cooling system completely" do you not comprehend? What I am doing costs less than $300 total, worry about your own money. I asked about the radiator, if you have no input on that, then mind your business.
I am currently pulling the motor from my 14 and I am looking to delete the factory trans cooling system completely and run a separate cooler in the grill with an improved racing thermostat on the trans. Do you know, will a 2017 5.7 radiator fit in my 2014 perfectly? My OEM rad has 90k miles on it and I know they are known to leak; I figured while I am in there, I will replace it with a new one. I won't need the trans cooling part of the 2014 radiator anymore so I am hoping a 2017 will bolt right in.
I have the same kit installed. You used the correct bulbs otherwise you would have 2 shadows on the ground from the wires that run along the bulbs.
My ballasts buzz also, not sure if its normal? But it does go away within a few seconds of them being on.
Overall I think the headlights are a million times better although a retrofit would be the proper way to go.
Im not sure, but I did find this thread regarding the same subject.
http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/154593-hid-lights/
Although the OP of the thread stated that when he ran regular H11 bulbs he didnt see a shadow, you can clearly see the shadows on the street in the picture labaled "very bright".
Then he shows pictures of the H11B bulb up against a garage door and it doesnt have as clean of a cut off line as the H11, but he doesnt have a picture of the H11B on the road.
Is any one else here running H11B bulbs?
I started to read this thread but its just way too long.
Im well aware that a proper HID retrofit should be done for proper light output.
In the mean time I want to install HID's into my projector housings until I have the time and means to do a proper retrofit.
For those of you who put HID's in a LTZ, are you using H11 or H11B bulbs? According to TRS we should be using H11B's (XB35) so there is not a shadow in the light pattern.

They also state we should be using their capacitor link
I ended up reading this whole thread and my mind is fried.
I didnt see a single post about H11B bulbs in the silverados yet TRS suggests them...
