  1. You have to have SiriusXM packaged with weather/premium features in order for the weather app on the truck to work. Sort of cool... shows rain/clouds on the nav screen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. So this is what I can confirm: - DL3 mirrors will fold, adjust position and retain the heated feature using the original wiring harness from the LT trucks - The above features work without programming the BCM - Wires must be added to the original LT harness for the puddle lights and blinkers to work - LTZ harnesses will enable heated mirrors, puddle lights and blinkers but will prevent folding and position adjustment - The auto-dimming feature will only work if you have an auto-dimming rearview mirror since signal is given based on that mirrors sensor - I have been unable to get reverse tilt to work but I have not specifically tried to get that to function The route I took was to use DL3 mirrors and the original door harnesses that came with my 2015 LT Silverado. I tried LTZ harnesses but as I mentioned above only the lights worked. Once I got both mirrors to fold and adjust using the original harness I figured out what wires needed to be added where for the puddle lights and blinkers to work. It takes 3 wires added to each harness. 1 wire to power the puddle lights, 1 wire to power the blinker, and 1 ground wire for both features. The ground must be grounded out to the harness itself, i.e. where all the other ground wires on the harness meet. I don't remember which pins/wires are which for the puddles, blinkers and grounds but I can look it up.
  3. I didn't write down the part numbers for the harnesses before I installed them. I will get them later in the week when I pull the door panels off again. But I do know that all of the pins were used except for 1 so I know the wiring was there for the motor functions. I have an appointment with the dealer in the morning to get them to look at programming the DL3 option into my BCM, however that works. I figured the mirrors would have at least responded to up/down left/right position switch functions.
  4. Hi all, I am in the middle of working on replacing DL8 mirrors from my Mexico built 2015 Silverado Crew Cab with DL3's. I got a great deal on the DL3 mirrors, $350 for driver and passenger mirrors and both door harnesses. The guy I bought from took the DL3's off of his 2015 2500HD and added the DQS tow mirrors. I also purchased the switch mentioned on this thread, 23154702, for $50. All together $400 for mirrors, harnesses and the switch. This past weekend I installed the new mirrors and harnesses as well as the switch. It took me about 3 or so hours and was fairly simple. Once I installed everything I tried testing it all and was partially successful. So most everyone mentioned that they got the mirrors to fold using the 23154702 switch and the existing DL8 harnesses. I never tried using the new switch and the original harnesses b/c I had the harnesses for the DL3's that I installed. With the new harnesses and switch I was able to get the blinkers, puddle lights and heated mirrors to work. But I cannot get the mirrors to fold in/out or to change directional position. I do hear the relay click or engage when I press the power fold button on the switch but nothing happens. Do I need to get these mirrors programmed or turned on in the BCM? The switch was brand new so it was never coded to a VIN before. Are the DL3's from the 2500 not compatible with the 1500? The 2500 DL3's have a temperature sensor where the 1500 DL3's don't. Anyway, I can confirm that with the new harness blinkers and puddle lights will work. But now I need advice on how to get the mirrors to fold and how to be able to get the glass to change position again, currently only drivers mirror up and down works.
  5. Hey everyone, I know this thread has been dead for a few months but I have some info to add that might be helpful for anyone trying to work with this. Here is an upfitter link on this exact approach: GM Upffiter Bulliten #115C It says you can order this part from the dealer as mentioned earlier in the thread which makes me wonder why this would void the warranty. What should void warranties is splicing into harnesses etc, not buying an oem connector for up-fitment purposes. Also, you can order these parts far cheaper from Terminals & Connectors. They supply the plug, the blue latch and the pins. You just need to supply the wiring.
