Some situations it is the tires but in my case I can guarantee it's the rearend. -

Yes my pinion angles were off. They added a "shim kit" to the rear leafs and replaced my driveshaft. Fixed it for about a month or so then the vibe came back with a hum from the rear end when coasting over 40mph and it shakes even worse under hard acceleration or towing after the "shim kit" -

Everyone please read these articles and email the editors so we can get some attention on our trucks. There is a gentleman named Daryl on the Facebook group that got the ball rolling. It's up to us to get attention on the trucks as well. Again please I'm begging everyone to do this. The SUV already has national attention!!!!! I've even attached each editors email address (couldn't find the one for autoblog still working on it and will update when I get it). Cbs freelance writer email address [email protected]. Shake or Vibration Issues
sideoftheroad replied to Silver space ship's topic in Troubleshooting & Recalls
Vibration was 75+ mph and felt like the truck was going to shake apart as soon as it hit 76 mph. Also had a clunk every single time I would let off the gas. Also would clunk anytime going from park to drive or any gear in between. Truck also rode TERRIBLE. I would hit bumps and my little cubby thing in the center of the dash would pop open it rode so bad. I mean rode BAD for a $45k+ Truck. -

Ok so I just got my truck back after the 9th repair attempt and my vib is 80% cured. It's night and day from before I dropped it off. I'm noticing all sorts of differences the more I drive it. According to the dealershop my pinion angle was at .3 ( assuming this is degrees?). They installed a leaf spring shim kit part #23469809 and a new driveshaft which corrected my pinion angle to 2.3 (again degrees???). Still have the whine when I let off the gas which is probably the pinion bearing from the angle being off. Vibe has also moved from 75+ to between 40-55 mph. I will say the shim kit for the leaf springs just about got rid of any clunking going on. Going to consult with an attorney to see if we can sue. -

Ok so I talked to my attorney again and he asked me to try one more dealership about 30 min away. Dropped it off yesterday and they called me a couple hours later saying it was the smoothest truck they have driven up to this point and asked me to come back and take them on a drive to point out what I was talking about. I took the service advisor on a test drive this morning and took the truck to 80 and the whole thing started shaking and he immediately said I feel it. Also tried saying that since its at highway speeds they might have to document it and wait for it to get worse but he would talk to his boss and let me know. Also I have a clunk when you let off the gas to coast (so you can hear the whine when off throttle) and then give it gas again there is a clunk. He tells me this is normal with 4x4 trucks. Is this true? Also does anyone has a list of all the recalls out so I can print it out and hand it to him and ask that they all be done? Thanks for everyone's help btw. -

Done all that. Have 6 repair orders called and told them I was giving them one final repair attempt. Sent a letter for informal dispute resolution to the address in the back of the warranty book. -

This is the Oklahoma lemon law. Very vague. http://www.ok.gov/omvc/documents/Lemon%20Law%20Guide.pdf BBB is the only course of action in Oklahoma besides a lawsuit. -

The lemon law in this state is worthless. They make you go through the BBB. -

I'm in Oklahoma my selling dealer had a field service engineer come drive it and he said "its the smoothest truck i've ever driven". They have road force balanced my tires about 5-6 times with no change in vibration. I have tried 2 other chevy dealers locally and they both have told me since I didn't buy the truck from them there is nothing they can do for me. I've called GM customer service and spent hours upon hours on the phone trying to get someone to help me. I emailed their entire upper corporate structure and have received no response. Now when I call they transfer me immediately to their legal department and they tell me that their position has not changed and they are going to do nothing to help me. I can't even get them to put their vibration analysis tool on it. I have a feeling my selling dealer is the issue here. I gave them 4 chances to correrct the vibration before calling customer service. After customer service called the selling dealer back I got a call from my service advisor accusing me of "going over their head". Ever since then I've had nothing but problems. -

So i've been fighting with Gm since October. They have basically told me to go pound sand. None of the dealers in town will help me and the BBB is a waste of time. I found an attorney to take my case but I need an ase certified mechanic to confirm the vibration before he will go to court even though it states a vibration in my numerous work orders. No mechanics in town will help me because no one wants to deal with going to court. At this point i'm about to just trade it in and cut my losses. Anyone have any new info recalls or just anything that will help me get my truck fixed???????????? I read about the body mounts and i'm waiting to hear back from more people in this thread before I do it. -

Just dropped mine off for the 5th and final repair and diagnoses attempt this time with a field service engineer. The loaner they gave me has The same vibration that mine does but it's way worse. My service advisor told me that it shakes so bad they can't sell it. 2015 lt z71 crew cab 4x4 2100 miles. Shakes from about 35 on. -

Yea I have borla as well and they are blaming it on "reverberations" from the exhaust. Sad thing is I can put it in neutral and let off the gas and coast and still feel it with no exhaust sounds which leads me to believe rims and/or tires. I've begged 2 different dealerships and about 4 different level supervisors at Gm for a new set of rims and tires for 2 months now and no one will do anything to help me. It even says in my owners manual tires are covered under warranty. After a certain amount of miles they prorate what you have to pay to replace them. -

I'm on my 4th repair and 2nd dealership. They keep telling me nothing is wrong. They won't even put a new set of rims and tires on it to see if that changes it. I was put in a 2014 wt loaner with 50 miles and it rode night and day better than my $46k truck. That really had me hot!!! I've already filed with the BBB Autoline and waiting to hear back. -

All I have to say is look up your states lemon laws. The BBB is your friend in this situation and be polite with them. They are there to help you. -

Yea they won't reach out to you. Only way I got a response was to file with the BBB Autoline and I got a phone call within 24hrs from Gm. 2.5 months of silence and non returned phone calls up till that point. Had the so called "customer service" reps waste that 2 months telling me they were working on a resolution with my selling dealer. -

"The third covers 152 of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC 1500 pickup trucks over concerns the rear axle shaft could fracture while the vehicles were being driven." I wonder how only 152 trucks are affected. Sounds pretty dangerous to me. -

That's exactly where I stand. At my selling dealer after I purchased my truck I couldn't get anyone to call me back or help me. They still owed me a key and a bunch of other add ons I negotiated in to the deal. I let a week go by before going to the general manager. After I went to the general manager my add ons were done and I got my extra key. Problem is they did a horrible job on installing my leather and I brought that up and they say "it's new it needs to shrink to fit the seats". Ya right leather stretches not shrinks. So I went back to the Gm about that and ever since then they don't want to help or return my phone call. Last GM product I will EVER own unless they step up in a big way to make this right. If this goes so far as civil court I will spend every waking moment making people aware of this issue and how Government Motors doesn't want to admit they have a MAJOR problem. I'm also going to be contacting our local news team problem solvers line and see if I can get them to do a story on it. -

I'm gonna look into filing a class action lawsuit. If anyone is interested in being part of it let me know. I read almost all the pages in this thread and I'm surprised no one has done it yet. It's been 2 month since the dealer has had my vehicle to try to fix the issue. I tried to go to another dealership but they told me since I didn't buy it from them I was sol. GM customer service keeps telling me they are waiting to hear back from their internal resource. I'll be damned if I lose 5k on trading it in because GM doesn't want to address the issue. I've already filed with BBB waiting to hear back.
