  1. That would make the most sense to me. Maybe I'm patient zero!
  2. Just tape off about 1/8" away from the letters and then newspaper after the tape. Spray 4-5 coats, let dry, then use ur nail or tooth pick to pull away the dip from unwanted areas. Basically any hard edge will cut the plasti dip when you pull it away. So like inside the "O" I just started at one corner and then peeled it slowly and it broke away from the actual letter. If you tape like your using spray paint you'll remove the tape along with the plastic dip when you peel away the tape.
  3. I completely agree with both posts. It's a little ridiculous how many hoops I'm having to jump through to get this issue fixed. First the service writers wouldn't sign off, so then I had to hunt down the service manager after 3 days of waiting to hear from him (didn't have time the first two days to leave work early) and now it's on to the DM. On the flip side my local Ford dealership is great. I had a GT500 last summer and they replaced my clutch under warranty (12,000 miles) and took care of numerous little issues no questions asked despite me buying the car used. This is my first time using my local Chevrolet dealership so I'll see how things go and keep everyone posted.
  4. Met with the service manager at my dealership and they are sending pictures of the headlights to the DM. They have never seen nor heard of this issue on these trucks. Let alone only 5,000 miles on the truck too. Should have word back from the DM next week sometime. The passenger side is so bad now I can feel the cracks on the outside.
  5. Update: Getting pretty annoyed with my Chevrolet dealer. The service manager was supposed to call 2 days ago but nothing yet. Usually I would have called each of the last two days but haven't had time at work. So I'll be calling him this morning. I feel it's just a bad set. My mom had a Cadillac Deville where the rear housing around the tailgate would crack like my headlights. 3 sets later we figured it had to be a design flaw. Impossible, I spray Griots Garage bug cleaner and let it sit for 5 minutes. Then spray it off and maybe pick off a tough spot or two with my finger nail.
  6. That's the thing my headlights are 100% stock, zero modifications.
  7. The drivers side is starting to do the same as well so I don't think it's from hitting anything. I'm waiting to hear back from the service manager today. The mechanic who did the oil change noted the damage is from heat. On a positive note this has to be the best oil change I've had in a vehicle to date. They didn't leave one drop of oil behind underneath.
  8. I have no clue how it happened all I can guess is a defective set. The projectors are fine it is just the inside of the housing that's cracking. Here's some better pictures I took this morning. I am dropping my truck off for its free oil change and service at noon today. They will be writing up a claim for new headlights and passenger mirror.
  9. This weekend while washing my truck I noticed a problem with my headlights. They are cracking from the inside out. In particular the passenger side is really bad and the drivers side looks to just be starting. I'm going to the dealer later this week for my first oil change and will have them get the warranty process started. Just curious if anyone else has had this issue. Out of all the "this truck sucks" threads I've yet to see one about cracking lights lol.
  10. Have you checked the actual parking brake lines running to the rear axel? Also, worst case just kick the parking brake pedal like your jump starting a motorcycle. I know none of us want to damage our trucks but at least its under warranty.
  11. What throttle body did you order?
  12. That'll be a very nice setup. The local GMC dealership has a orange 1500 Sierra with a level and K02's parked outside our store and it is clean.
  13. For future reference advance auto parts can reset your codes if they have the right scanner at that particular store.
  14. Damn at $2.50 a gallon that would only be about 5-10 cents more in my area. At that price I would run it all day long.
  15. Thanks Adam, I am running a 6" BDS kit with coilovers. I had to do a decent amount of trimming because of the -24 offset and the 13.5" wide tire. But now that it's all setup it was well worth it.
  16. 20x10 Method MR301 35x13.5r20 Toyo R/T
  17. What does that run per gallon? In my area its about $3.00/gallon currently.
  18. My 2014 Silverado 1500 has the 6.2L so I only run premium gasoline. I usually fill up at either Sam's Club, Jet-Pep or Raceway as they have the lowest price gas in town. 9/10 I fill up at Sam's Club since it is closest to my work and usually the cheapest of the three. City I get about 11-13mpg (lots of stop and go) and highway I see between 18-21mpg. Even with "Top Tier" gas my numbers stay the same and my engine oil looks the same when it comes out. I personally don't believe purchasing gas from Shell and other "Top Tier" vendors is worth the extra money as long as you take care of your truck and perform regular maintenance.
  19. Hey man cut the cord http://cdn.breitbart.com/mediaserver/2012/03/21/cutting-cord-cable-tv/cord-cutting-cable.jpg
  20. I'm not trying to toot my own horn here but my truck looks freaking awesome! I had to run by the shop during lunch to talk with them and I was blown away. I can't wait to get in the drivers seat tonight. Only issue is that BDS didn't include the hardware bag for the skid plates. So I'm running a little naked underneath for a few days.
  21. You can dip carbon fiber patterns all day long. But this local place just did a shit job. The sample they showed me and the end result were a work of difference.
  22. I would go with with paint and have them spray a couple extra layers of clear.
