Thanks for coming here and posting. It was getting confusing jumping back and forth between here and youtube. I'll wait to see how your install goes before ordering one for myself. If it needs updated to my VIN I think my local dealership would be willing to help as the guy I deal with there is interested in the Pre-2016 Carplay /Android Auto retrofits himself.

When I posted that earlier, I was home with my 4 year old daughter and didn't really have a chance to hammer on it and see what worked and what didn't. I was able to take a drive tonight and the only thing that doesn't work is Siri talking to me, there's just no audio. Siri can hear me, and can do what I ask her to do. I asked for directions to the local grocery store, there are three of them, three options popped up and I chose the one I wanted. That said, the only thing I currently don't have is Siri reading my text messages to me. That's probably a deal breaker for most but I don't get many texts, and I really don't care if I can't hear them while I'm driving. I started this to get two things, the apple music interface on my truck stereo, which I got, and apple maps, which I now have. If Siri ever graces me with her voice in my truck, it will be a bonus.

If you have the armrest jump seat, take the rubber insert out of the plastic cupholder piece and take the 4 screws and the plastic piece out. There is a USB plug and a 10 pin plug, the 10 pin is tied off inside pretty short and you wont be able to connect it without removing the cup holders. The rubber piece just pulls out, it doesn't feel like it will, but t does.

Ok, so I received the 13509942 plug today, plugged it in, plugged my phone in and... it worked! (kinda) I have music, I have maps, i have SMS (kinda). Siri is muted. The interface activates and the line squiggles, she can hear me, but she apparently has laryngitis. Here's the disclaimer, I'm running the beta of iOS 12 on my phone. I don't want to revert because I've been on it for a while and I would have to go back to my most recent backup from like 2 months ago. Too much data loss for me. Right now I have what I wanted out of Carplay. I can still listen to music and apple maps shows up on the screen. Once iOS 12 officially releases and the new version of Carplay releases with it, I'll assess the damage then and proceed accordingly. *EDIT* Forgot to add, since Siri is muted, she reads your SMS messages to you, so it all works you just can't hear what she's saying.

Wait this out with me. If I have to go full tilt I will have spent: $115 for the HMI, delivered $24 for the USB, delivered ~$299 for the radio module if I have to go that far. That's far better than the ~$600-700 I would have had to spend to replace it all with aftermarket. I'm into this truck for two or three more years so this is worth it to me.

Alright, Ladies and Gentlemen. 2.5 HMI module arrived today and I swapped it out. It takes longer to get the glove boxes out than it does to swap the module. The bad news, everything except Apple CarPlay works. It just doesn’t detect the phone. That said, I have not yet upgraded the USB connector in the armrest. That will now be my next purchase to see if that makes it work. If if that doesn’t, the next thing is apparently the radio module and I have been told that is relatively reasonable in price too.

Module arrives Wednesday. Had the truck in the shop on Friday and got the radio software updated to try and alleviate any potential issues there. If I can get the module in Wednesday night I'll definitely update, good or bad. Only roadblocks I see right now is I have the old USB ports in my console (with the SD card slot), some guys have had to upgrade to the new USB ports. That said, the guys that have had issues with the old ports were on android which apparently requires more bandwidth than Carplay. I'm on iOS so I'm hoping for the best.

Are you happy with the quality of the Anzo's? I like the look of them but have seen enough people with issues that I haven't pulled the trigger on them yet.- 3,363 replies

Post Pics of Your 2014+

Beautiful truck, grapedrinkesha. That's exactly the lift and look I'd like on my truck. Is that a 2.5" front only level lift with 20" rims with a -24 offset and approximately 295/55-20 tires? -
You name it, I've done it (except pulling at max GVWR). Bone stock truck, only addition is a Leer Topper that weighs 300 - 400 lbs City driving I average between 15-18 MPG Highway driving at an average speed of 65MPH, I average 21-23 MPG Pulling my pontoon boat that weighs ~3500 lbs, I average 10-13 MPG I'm not one to stand on the throttle and I'm not one to speed so your mileage may vary, but going on 24,000 miles with this truck, these are the MPG's I've seen with it.

All I've done so far is the Leer top and the N-Fab nerf bars. HID headlights and LED courtesy and fog lights are next. -

Thanks, Thrasher I really like the look of them. I looked at the RB10's too but I wanted something a little lower profile to the truck. I plan on keeping the topper on so bed access wasn't as important to me. The finish and the construction on them seem really durable.
