  1. @jgutierrez89 sorry for all the questions.....

Have you been happy with the ride of the Fox coil over set up?

How do you have them set... 3in lift?

    What size tires?

Any larger blocks in the rear?

I have no complains with the fox coilover set up i have, i have them set to about 1 1/2 in with a set of Maxtrac 3in lift spindles for 4 1/2 in of lift in the front (my truck is a 2wd), a 2in lift block in the rear in place of the factory 1.25 in block. Lastly the wheels are 17in Weld Cheyenne's with 33in Mickey Thompson MTZ's. Hope that helps.

      Thanks that sure helps!

  2. I did look into that before building my own box. Im sure it sounds great it was just somewhat out of my price range for the project.
  3. Going to be doing the sound mat behind the sub and amp tomorrow. Then I can start putting the stock sound dampening back in. Sure is noticeably louder with out it. I also have some poly fill for the sub box but over all I am very happy with the set up. The fact that it used up no space from the normal cab area is the best part for me. Does anyone have any interest on a actual build post on this vs some pictures with not much info?
  4. I look forward to seeing that. I just went out and changed the phase on it because something just didn't sound right. I'm sure glad I did whole different sub now. Amazing what happenes when sine waves cancel each other out.........kinda like what what you get in the 6.2l with bose. I feel you on finding time. I have a expecting wife with out first and a huge dog so for me this project was all about not taking any space from the truck and I think it really worked out well. Btw this box is 32Lx12Hx3D outside dimentions with 1/2inch mdf. So I think with the sub it comes out to .31cu ft.
  5. Ok so here is the latest update. Got everything up and running today. It sound good adds good deep bass and really helps the sound quality. I'm thinking it could be better with some fill in the box and I may try a JL sub at some point. Also found out I have a leak behind the drivers seat. Carpet was soaked. I will add some pictures in a little.
  6. Got it all working. I'm pretty happy but will continue to try and make t better. I think I may give a jl a try! Thanks.
  7. I think you are right. It's good for sure when the seats are down but in the up position it's close. I'm going to see if I can shift the seats forward some may be able to get half a inch. Since this first box is a test run to see if the .37 cu ft works for this set up I can always trim the box down another half a inch where the sub is and increase the depth outside of the sub. For now the plan is to turn it down when the seats are up.
  8. Well I got a good bit done today. No sound yet that will come tomorrow. I will fix the photos later doing this on my phone.
  9. Thanks for all the great info everyone. I will be working on this today and will make sure to post pictures and results of what happens. At the moment it looks like the rear seat option is out so I may try the front seat. I also got a nl4 connector so I can quickly disconnect it if I do end up having to go under the rear seat at lest I can take it out but that would be disappointing. What have I got to lose other then some time. I'm trying to avoid under the rear seat since my large dog ends up occupying the back pretty often when I'm going to and from our river lot and pulling the rv. I have a good bit of mdf so I'm going to play around with enclosures may try and port it as well but it looks like sealed should work for my needs. My degree and experience is in acoustical engineering so I should be able to tell if it sounds bad....I hope ? Coming from $500,000 line array speakers I get to use at work my truck sounds.........eh at best anyways just trying to improve it some. Next I will be focusing on the speakers.
  10. Thanks for the picture you have saved me some time today. I was planing to pull the single seat to do just that, fold it up and see how much room I had. Looks like my only option may be the front seat.
  11. Ah you are right the updated advisory is for a sub displacement of .040 cu ft for sub displacement not enclosure size. Thanks for opening my eyes to this!
  12. Ok so I have looked everywhere and got some great info but can not find anyone who has installed a slim 8inch subwoofer behind the rear seat or under the passenger seat. I have a 2015 crew cab non Bose and my passenger seat is not power so I have some room. The Rockford P3SD48 P3 Punch Shallow mount 8-Inch DVC 4-Ohm Subwoofer I got only needs .40 cu ft per manufacture recomendations. So a pretty small sealed or ported box will do it. I got a Alpine MRV-M250 to power it. I'm going to run 4 awg marine power wire from my second battery and it should let me up the amp to 500w if this 8 inch does not cut it. As far as connections I'm pretty good to go but I'm looking for help with the placement of the sub box and would love to get everyone's thoughts. Not looking for a lots of bass just to help the sound quality out some.
