  1. When I changed the oil a few days ago I noticed the sway bar links were broken. Borrowed the neighbors compressor and tools to install new ones. He was bored and wanted something to do so he decided to do change them himself. LOL He's a very cool neighbor. Took him about 20 minutes and then he was bored again. HAHAHA
  2. Yesterday morning I noticed my oil change was coming up in less than 400 miles so I went ahead and changed it. Also dropped in a K&N air filter in this truck for the first time. Hear nothing but good things about K&N so I said what the hell.
  3. Mines factory other than tinted windows and the tune. I have never been into heavily modding my vehicles, maybe one or two things at most. I once seriously thought about going crazy and having a good time but the wife likes it the way it is. The old saying... happy wife, happy life. LOL The only plan I have for my Silverado is buying a new CAI tube and a drop in filter, that's about it.
  4. Got an excellent deal on a Diablo inTune i2 through Auto Anything this past Saturday for a total of $319.95, it was delivered today. Updated the tuner and installed the 87 octane tune, disabled AFM and added stiffer shifts. Truck performs so much better with the canned tune. Going to get a custom tune from Lew after I hit the 150+ mark.
  5. After 1,990 miles since installing my Range AFM disabler I have not used any oil. Checked the oil yesterday morning before starting the truck and was pleasantly surprised that it showed full. I am using Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 5w-30. Before the Range I had to add about a 1/2 quart every 1000 to 1500 miles.
  6. Now that tropical storm Hermine is gone I decided to give it a much needed bath and shine.
  7. There's a GM dealer a couple miles south of the one I bought my truck from that's more than happy to take disgruntled customers away from that meathead dealership. Words from the mouth of a service advisor. LOL She said she worked with a couple of the advisors at a different place and didn't exactly praise their customer service ability. LMAO
  8. You are one of the lucky few. I took mine in for it's first free oil change, and last. There were 3 people in the waiting room, an elderly couple and myself. Took them 2 hours to change my oil. Every fifteen minutes someone would say, ALMOST DONE! Noticing I was irritated they offered me 2 more free changes for the wait but told them to stick'em where the sun don't shine.
  9. Having a disability that prevents my hands from working like they used to is why I did it this way, I don't know about other people. It was so much easier to have everything out in the open so I could see what I was doing and know what I was touching. I have lost feeling in my hands so doing stuff like shoving my hands in behind the lights and feeling what I'm doing doesn't work for me. Did I have to pay a stealership to change them for me, no. Did it take me 5 minutes , no. Took me about 20. Not too bad for someone that was told I'd lose the use of my hands a few years ago.
  10. Once I got the grill off it too about 20 minutes total, including putting it all back together. Sent from my SPH-L710T using Tapatalk
  11. What happened to the good ol' days? LOL Yesterday morning I woke up to the passenger low beam out. I replaced both low beams rather than waiting for the driver side to go out. Found a video from 1A Auto on how to replace the bulbs. I went from this: To this just to replace the bulbs. Once I was able to get the clips to pop out it was a piece of cake to do. Took me a little longer than it should have though. I read that there are 4 clips holding the grill on the 2011 Silverado. I discovered this truck has 6. I could not figure out why the grill just didn't pop off like in the video. I literally smacked my head when I figured it out. LOL Once the new bulbs were in it took less than 10 minutes to put back together. Wasn't too bad.
  12. Received and installed a Range AFM disabler this afternoon. Took the truck for a ride and with the DIC set to show V4/V8 mode it never went into V4 mode at all.
  13. Fresh from a much needed bath
  14. I know how they feel about tint up north. We're from a town about an hour south of Chicago. I've seen plenty of people on the side of the road cutting off their tint as a city, county or trooper watched. Down here in Florida they're pretty lenient. In the past couple days I've had 4 city cops and one trooper look my way at red lights and didn't even give me a second look. Definitely keeps the heat from the Florida sun at bay.
  15. A couple days ago I had 5% Limo tint installed on the windows. It's actually not as dark from the inside as I thought it would be. Have been getting a lot of compliments.
  16. This was yesterday but rotated the tires and reset the TPMS via D.I.Y.
  17. Had the tint on the drivers side window replaced. Somehow some thing caused a knick in the film. Wasn't a big one, it was the size of the head of a sewing needle. But when sunlight hit the window it looked like the size of a quarter to me and stuck out. LOL Dude offers a lifetime warranty for as long as you own your vehicle so I took advantage of the great offer. Plan to go back in a few weeks to get the rear window and the two rear side windows tinted an additional 18% over the factory tint.
  18. 5% would make me nervous. The way people don't follow the Walk/Don't Walk signs here I'd be afraid of running someone over in a crosswalk and not know it until i heard a thump or felt some thing like a speed bump.
  19. Back when I lived in Illinois law enforcement frowned on any percentage of tint. Unless it came from the factory or the occupant had a form from a doctor saying that tint was required as protection from UV rays, or some thing like that.. Now I guess they changed the law that allows only 35% on ALL windows. I saw 35% in the showroom, I don't see why anyone would even bother paying for that.
  20. He had a display in the showroom and 5% was listed as Limo dark. I think 5% looks cool but just a bit too dark for my taste, even on the rear windows.
  21. Just home from getting 18% tint on my front windows and a 6 inch strip across the top of the windshield. Lifetime warranty for as long as I own the truck against scratches, chipping, tears, bubbles, almost anything that could go wrong. Except for tearing it off yourself. Before After ----- -----
  22. Not a thing. It has sat in the driveway since yesterday morning and won't be driven until tomorrow morning.
  23. The wife and I used the Silverado to go pick up a new member of the family. Local Animal Services was waiving the adoption fee for dogs 45 pounds or more. We saw quite a few but one really stuck out and we both knew he was the one going home with us. This is 1 year old Bentley
  24. LMAO! I discovered that too when we moved down here in 2011. And lizards.... They are everywhere and in everything. The one good thing is the lizards eat the huge Florida bugs so I don't mind them as much.
