Ok, its been a while since I last replied to this thread but recall I have a 2015 crew cab Silverado 1500 LT 4.3L V6, Z71, standard 6.5' bed with leer canopy.
It vibrates when the VLOM manifold shuts off 2 cylinders. Its been to the dealership several times for this, and I just heard back from the dealer that there is no fix. Big surprise there.
I love the truck but I cant really say I like the vibration. They have a GM field engineer looking into it, but so far there are no further bulletins.
They told me that it does not cause a malfunction in the drivetrain, but it is the resonance in the exhaust system that I feel in the steering wheel.
I don't have the 70+ mph vibration others post about (13,500 miles now) but that 4 cyl mode vibration under power is not too great a feeling.
Because none of the trade options look good, and I just bought this truck, and the fact that I have been through the lemon law debacle before (that is NOT a good option, folks, you get screwed that way).
I will explain for those who don't know the facts.
The way the lemon law works is that they deem the truck completely valueless at 100,000 miles. They pro-rate your settlement, so that if you spent $50,000 on the truck, and it has 10,000 miles on it, you will only get 80 percent of your money back. Then they will not pay any more for any improvements you have made, i.e. leather, mud flaps, ground effects, step boards, canopy, storage, spray in liner, etc. unless those were part of the purchase price.
So if you borrowed money to pay some portion of the $50,000, you get an opportunity to experience a bad day.
By the way, several have posted references to the Better Business Bureau. The BBB is not your friend. The BBB merely establishes a communication channel between you and the business, and to some extent mediates the conversation. They are not lawyers, do not take sides, and certainly do not force either party to abide by the agreements. This is a common misconception. Be warned, especially when you consider trading your POS GM truck for another make.
and some mention fuel prices... The Saudis wont keep oversupplying the oil market for long. This is done to crush the dollar, think about it people.
That leaves very few choices.
