  1. $800 bucks free ship.
  2. I always change the brake hoses when changing calipers. A good indicator that your hose has a restriction is that when you crack a bleed screw, no fluid drips out. I recently replaced both front calipers on my 2001 Sierra, new hoses, nice high pedal, like new. AC/Delco remans are $47/each on Amazon, and they send you $30/core when you return them, and they pay the ship. That's $17/each!
  3. The short answer is no, you don't need to change a thing. Case in point, I changed from a 16 inch, to an 18 rim/tire combination on my 2001 Sierra. The tire diameter change was 1/10 of an inch.
  4. They are in short supply, as everyone is fixing their trucks. Following bed=off repairs last Summer, I ended up with a rear spring/shackle mount kit, so I put them up on Marketplace. I think that they were the last pair on the face of the Earth! Guy that showed up said that nobody had them, and paid me more than I did, after looking at a new 2020 Sierra SLT at $63000. So we keep the old stuff going.
  5. Are you up on the limiter, or is the fuel pump shutting down? There's a couple of de-bugs depending upon this.
  6. Sounds as if the drive shaft is out of "phase". If you're getting a bind, flip the drive shaft 180 degrees in the rear end yoke.
  7. I went back and forth with this for years, however after tire leaks and corrosion, I bought a set of brand new take offs from a 2020 Sierra for short money. My only regret is losing the Michelin ride!
  8. It's a board error on the older trucks, most prevalent after a driving rain.I'm on my third battery in 20 years, an A/C Delco from Auto Zone, $89 bucks on my dealer account, they stash them behind the counter. Battery light kept coming on, performed a starting/cranking/charging test, all okay. Hey, we gotta keep 'em going.
  9. You can typically tell if it's a wheel bearing by turning the wheel while moving, as this will load/unload the bearing. Other indications are an ABS light, as the air gap on that particular wheel is diminished due to a warn bearing.
  10. Sounds as though you bled the brakes properly, and any remaining air usually works itself back to the BMC.
  11. CV-19 has me stuck at home, so I'm slowly upgrading my 2001 Sierra SLT. I replaced all of the exterior lighting, including new headlamps, tail lamps, and third brake light, all LED. Each module has a resistor attached, however if I select the lights on during the day, the cruise control won't turn on.I watched some youtube videos that suggested that it was the third brake light module, tricking the system into thinking that the brakes were applied, which would disengage the cruise control, any ideas?
  12. I'd rather the stock white truck, Typical GMC, four years old, half price, It's difficult getting a lifted truck inspected in many states also.
  13. I really did not hear the squeak, however there was a tsb for the A/C belt and tensioner, back in the day. Dayco has both parts available. Dave 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 extended cab
  14. The passenger side power door lock recently stopped working on my 2001 extended cab Sierra, I can't even slide the switch aft in order to lock that passenger side door, and have lubed everything that I can see, any ideas here?
  15. We did just that last weekend, installing a Dual audio unit into our 2001 Sierra. I second youtube for the videos, as the guys even provided the part numbers for the installation kit on Amzaon. It's great to have bluetooth audio and hands free in a 20 year old truck.
  16. We have, curious as to what oil was in it at the time of failure? This is lowly unusual.
