The dealer replaced both of my headlight assemblies . it took 3 headlights to get a good pair but mine was done when the 24's first came out and they told me there was a problem with them. When they replaced the first set they used 1 original version and 1 new version. The original version still had the problem, so at that time i waited about 6 weeks for a new version replacement. I have since sold the truck but my buddy bought it and i know the front lighting is all fine. -
i'am having a very similar issure with the trailer tpms sensors. i have had the same problem on my 2024 and now on my 2025. they will not learn on the trailer manualy or with 3 different tpms tools, even with the license plate off. when i remove the wheels from the trailer and place them at the rear bumper of the truck all 4 learn very quick . checked them twice on the truck screen and temp and psi was fine, within 15 miles they all drop out and never come back. then comes all the annoying trailer tpms messages. deleted the trailer profile and re created a new one and did not set up any tpms sensors. iam still getting the annoying messages, even without any sensors setup??. the trailer is 21' from the bumper to the rear trailer wheel. i think the max lenght gm recomends is 23'. iam using all steel 12 ply tires and was wondering if they could be causing some interference but the last trailer with the 24 truck did the same thing and used std 10ply trailer tires. is there a sgnal booster/repeater that would work with the gm system that anybody knows of. iam even considereing trying a aftermarket system w/ external sensros. anybody have any ideas that i havent tried. i am using the 4T+ gm sensors. also not even considering the dealer they have damaged my truck in the past and i dont want to leave them a truck and trailer.

LIGHTING PROBLEMS FINALLY SOLVED. i have waited so long to post this so that i was as sure as possible everything was working properly since the problems were so intermittent. About 7-8 weeks ago both of my headlights were replaced to fix the turn signal fast flash problem, which it did but the new right side headlight had a new problem. the DRL would flash sometimes when the headlights were on. My dealer opened a TAC case and GM told them to replace the right headlight again. They were on backorder for about 3-4 weeks. 3 weeks ago the new right side came in and 2 weeks ago it was replaced. so far everything is fine with the DRL. i have been dealing with this lighting problem since the first 100 miles on the truck in April. the steering box had a leak and was replaced but no other issues with the truck, it has been EXCELLENT, i hope this lighting information helps some of the other guys out that are having the same problems. -

2 new headlights fixed my turn signal issues. it has been about 7-8 weeks now so iam convinced the T/S's are fixed but now my dealer is working on another issue with the new right headlight. when the headlights or parking lights are turned on the right DRL blinks and again this is a intermittent problem just like the T/S's were. The dealer opened a TAC case and under TAC's instruction they updated the lighting module with the latest software but that didn't fix it so TAC said replace the right headlight again. they are on backorder until mid to end of September.. but now the possible strike issue.....so iam waiting for the new light and hoping the T/S's work in that one, along with the DRL. mine was built in flint 3/21/23. vin #110259 -
Thanks again, ill see what happens Tuesday when i bring it back in. According to the work order the wiring and connectors were checked before they decided to put the new headlights in and i even re-seated both connectors before i even brought it in the first time. the T/S's so far are working fine with the new lights.

Dealership replaced both headlights a little over 2 weeks ago for the fast flash turn signal problems, the turn signals seem to be working ok now but only time will tell since that problem was very intermittent. A few days ago a new headlight problem started with the replacement lights . When the parking lights ,low beams or high beam lights are on the right Daytime Running Light flashes constantly. Turn off the headlights and all is normal. So when i drive the truck at night the right DRL constantly flashes, trying to be patient while waiting for the dealership to decides what they are going to do. I find it hard to believe that these headlight problems didn't show their face while all the GM employees were driving these trucks prior to start of production. Anyone have this problem yet?

but on a good note ,i have 4000 miles on the truck now and 1000 of them with a 10,000 pound enclosed car trailer behind it. the 10 sp is fantastic!!! with the 6.6 gas, the gearing in the trans makes the truck feel like it has a different motor in it. my 20 and 21 with the 6sp were ok and were better the the 6.0/6sp combo for power but nothing like this one. the truck is super comfortable to travel in because of the better towing capabilities. i always by gassers and have had many 2500 hd's over the years and this one even surpasses my favorite and strongest, my 04 with a 8.1 and allison trans. just thought of another intermittent issue. when i'am in tow/haul with the trailer and use the T/S's for changing lanes on the highway sometimes the red blind zone box shows up and sometimes it doesn't. anybody else notice the same thing?? all these little issues really dont get me to worked up, they will get straightened out sooner or later. at least so far it still runs...... -

another note on the turn signals. a few days back i was setting up a new version of a GM pass through/interface cable on my GDS laptop at work and had some extra time so i thought lets see how much of the lighting system front and rear i can a control. i was able to command every light on and off plenty of times EXCEPT the front T/S's and front DRL's. all the lamps that do not work when the T/S's do their thing. kind a didn't make any sense because everything was working fine from the t/s and lighting switches in the truck at that time. now the tailgate is getting a mind of its own. sometimes it works with the handle button, sometimes it doesn't. same thing from the dash switch. so far the only switch that hasn't crapped out is the tailgate button on the key fob. service power tailgate message on the DIC. no codes stored and it resets just like everything else does once the truck is off for a while and may work fine for weeks -

still waiting for GM to come up with a fix. the turn signals have been working intermittently since the first 100 miles in April. my first appointment for this was in May and i have been checking in with the dealer every 2 weeks. i spoke with my dealer again yesterday and they have other trucks doing the same thing with open TAC cases. according to the dealer TAC's next step is a lighting module but they are on back order with no ETA. he said TAC will not approve any further repairs until the lighting module is tried, i thought i have seen other fellas on various sites that have already had the lighting modules replaced with no success? aren't non functioning turn signals a safety issue??? kinda concerns me at times. -

when the left one acted up within the first 100 miles i had the wheel liners out for rustproofing so i un plugged the left headlamp connector and made sure the terminals weren't damaged that the secondary lock was indeed originally locked and it was, so i reconnected it and made sure it was locked. it acted up again within a few hundred miles, each side has done it 3 times within the 1200 miles that are on the truck now. when i scanned it there were no codes in either the truck lighting module or in the trailer lighting module and no associated communication codes between the modules stored in the GDS 2. -

my right turn signal did it again today first time in about 600 miles or so. 1200 miles on the truck now. no luck with my dealership yet and after my last experience there, iam really not looking forward to another visit to the service dept. seems like its getting to be a common problem from all of the posts in the face book 24' groups, anybody get theirs fixed yet? -

you are exactly right, truck was in last week to have the turn signals checked and got the exact result that i expected ,the famous "can not duplicate customers concern" it is a intermittent issue and i understand all about the difficulty in that kind of repair ,i deal with it everyday but i don't believe there was much effort put into the situation. it hasn't acted up in a few weeks but every time i use the turn signals i wonder if they are going to work correctly. also had the steering box replaced due to a leak at the pitman seal. they did a nice job on that repair but my driver front door didn't fair so well against their lift column..... $75K new truck with 900 miles on it with a paintless dent repair on the door , the metal is so thin nowadays so the repair is only so so and the truck is black..... so iam like most, i'am not a big fan of any of the dealerships service dept.'s . -
just use the MSDS sheets for what ever product want to use as a reference. section #3 shows the % of solvents. i narrowed it down to a few different ones i thought would be good and compared the solvent percentage , bought a few cans of Daubert 121x which is what the GM TSB says to use for repair on the GM frames .i also bought some of each material i wanted to possibly use. i cut 4x6 metal test panels, sprayed 4 with paint and 4 with the 3 coats of Daubert 121x wax, let them sit a week or so and then sprayed them with each of the 4 rustproofing material's i wanted to use to see if it would any would attack the wax and none did. i wasn't shy with the spray either . i also dropped puddles in the center of each test panel to see if a heavier amount would attack the Daubert wax and none did. each of the 4 materials showed 30%-60% solvents or less on their MSDS sheet. that's how i ended up using the Tectyl 846 class 1 material. like i mentioned in a earlier post the Tectyl 846 is a direct cross for original Cosmoline Rust Veto 342 Industrial and was considerably less money than anything with the Comoline brand name on it, i spent alot of time and a few bucks to experiment and prove it to myself that i wasn't gonna wash the wax of the frame of a brand new truck. I get a good sampling at work of the GM trucks that come through my shop for comparison. fluid film and wool wax work great on the older rusty ones but that stuff is messy to work around, but you need to use something more of a wax material on the new ones . I Did mine about a month ago and it has set up nicely, much firmer than the GM wax but still plenty soft enough to dig your finger nail in to and doesn't rub of on your skin near as bad as the original GM wax does and i dont think it will dry out much more. i also bought a few spray cans from Cosmoline Direct to try both of their versions it does dry to the touch and does stay waxy, but its alot thinner and doesnt build like the Tectyl does, Hope all this info will help i had a ton of time sorting it out.

sorry i didn't take any pictures during the process, this is what i used https://petroleumservicecompany.com/tectyl-846-class-i/ it is the same mil spec and class as the original industrial rust veto 342 cosmoline made by Houghton Products For Metal Protection who is the original manufacturer from the late 1800's and still making it today of course by the new EPA rules petroleum service company also sells the daubert wax that GM recommends for the frame wax repair in their TSB if you want to keep the edges of the frame touched up instead of doing the whole truck. ..

i decided to use industrial cosmoline on my 24 truck ,i have been doing my own trucks since my first new one in 1988. for years i have used a clear inner panel material that creeps and never really dries and a rubberized material over the waxed frame. the solvent percentage in it is rather low and it never attacked the wax formula from GM. it is made by a company called rusfre and had excellent results on quite a few trucks over the years . i decided to change it up this time to get away from the rubberized version and wasn't interested in fluid film, i did consider wool wax but just wanted something that was a little neater to work around so i started to research different versions of the cosmoline product mainly looking at the amount of solvent in each product so it would be safe with the original GM wax. i thought the cosmoline would work well since it is a wax base product that never dries totally but does dry firm, not hard like rubberized material and it isn't as messy to work around as some of the other products out there. it works well inside and outside for the frame and also seems to spray thin enough to get into the body seems. it comes in a amber color and i tinted it slightly with charcoal powder to darken it a little. the amount of solvent percentage allows it to work safely over the GM original hot wax. i ended up with a product from a company called Tectyl. the product name is Tectyl 846 which is a direct cross for industrial cosmoline 342 with the same mil spec. it sprayed nicely through the gun and had to thin it a little for use with the wands. didn't have any effect on rubber or connectors. i do stay away from the rear leaf spring bushings because i have had issues with rust proofing causing rear spring noise. clean up is super easy and it even smells good.

Is anybody with a 24 LTZ or High Country having any issues with their turn signals? Mine started intermittently acting up within the first 100 miles. The left one was first and a few weeks later he right one did it a few times.. They flash normal for 3 flashes and then the front one goes out. The rear and the mirror still operate but flash fast, like a older vehicle when one burns out. Also get the service front turn signal lamp on the DIC. Each side has done it twice. Shut the truck off come back out later start it up and its fine and may be fine for a few weeks then out of the blue one of the does it again. I see it is happening to other guys also on various 2024 pages. Just was wondering if anybody here had a similar issue. It is going in Tuesday for the dealer to look at that and a leaking steering box.

thanks , i first saw the wheels on a high country back in February at the Cleveland auto show, i thought they did a good job on the design. simple, nice and easy to keep clean. they will look great on your new 24....
