  1. Move the shifter to manual mode and hit the up arrow until it stops. You'll end up with either a 6 or an 8.
  2. My battery bit the dust the other day also. Went to back the truck out of the garage and it turned over a bit slowly so I started thinking replacement in the near future. A bit later went to go somewhere and was completely dead. Bought an Interstate from Costco with 42 month warranty and got it installed in about 30 minutes. Hardest part was jockeying the old battery out once everything was out of the way. Leave it to GM to make a simple job difficult.
  3. The screw holding the white plastic locking arm. 1/4 turn is probably all it needs, however I found that the zip tie trick helped on top of this. Mine was the same way where if I locked and unlocked enough it would finally do what it should, however it was more of a hindrance than hitting lock once and knowing it was going to actually lock.
  4. I ended up in the same boat. I emailed Pop & Lock asking if there was a fix and they had me send a video of what it was doing, to which they offered exactly zero help as their "tech support" didn't have a fix, and they won't sell any replacement parts. They were more than willing to offer me a whole new unit at full price, however. Needless to say that left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth and I won't be buying anything else from them in the future. That said, the zip tie trick is working for me as well. Sorry for the rant.
  5. You can cut up a box from your case of Budweiser or your flavor of choice and that too doubles as a debris stopper.
  6. A little off topic (but not too far) and maybe a dumb question (I know, no dumb questions only dumb people) but given the warmer than average temps I've been running my AC much more than normal. When I initially start the truck the AC blows the cold air on a high setting, then after a few minutes turns it self down quite a bit and is subsequently much quieter. I do not have it on the auto setting, nor do I have it recirculating air when this occurs. I'm about to eclipse the 34,000 mile mark so I'm thinking the condenser won't actually go out for another 2,500 miles as soon as I'm fully out of warranty.
  7. Is there no "M" or manual gear selector on the 17s or is the "L" specific to max tow trucks?
  8. Sorry to dig into the archives but I just ran a can of SeaFoam through my intake and boy did it ever create a smoky mess right after. My neighbor was bagging leaves by his mailbox and got a face full of it and when I went to trounce on the gas at the end of the block it acted like a dog and dumped off another batch of blue smoke. Clearly it must have done something, but I haven't logged enough miles yet to see any sort of difference, nor did I experience any real issues before the procedure having only 26k on the truck.
  9. Still gotta be easier to open than when it's locked though, right? Mine is still working well, but it's only been on for about 8 months.
  10. I had a rattle underneath the dash that I thought was a loose hood release cable causing the latch to vibrate but as it turns out it was the entire assembly itself. There are "heat stakes" and one was significantly shorter than the others from the factory. Dealer swapped it out and it hasn't made a peep since. It sure was a chore to figure out the cause, however.
