  1. Those are good tires. Reason I asked if you put new tires on is in my experience the better ride comes from a new set of tires rather than shocks or control arms. Not that they dont help but this is a common misconception.
  2. Did you put new tires on as well
  3. I’d like to know if the 2019 model still uses the mechanical pump. Or if they went with electrical
  4. I’d like to know if the 2019 model still uses the mechanical pump. Or if they went with electrical
  5. It seems like everything on these trucks needs greased or torqued. I found myself piling the hinges on the center console/seat the other day because of a constant squeaking noise.
  6. So what do we know. Its not vaccum pump or catalytic converters. Must either be in trans, fuel systems, mechanical in top end, pulley or water pump. Still see pretty far away. Be easier to just replace truck lol
  7. What’s pretty silly is that General Motors still has a customer base after selling so many of these ticking, clunking, rough riding bastards. I don’t care if this is fixed when I start my truck in the morning and I never have another problem. GM has blatantly ignored issues with bandaid fixes and I have no desire to give them another penny.
  8. I replaced my vacuum pump as well and no change. I’m telling you it’s design issue and gm has no care to fix it.
  9. No never had motor mounts replaced but I may check torque now.
  10. Anyone figure this out yet? I noticed today that yes when you rev and turn wheel without moving then it’s gone for a min while driving then the first big bump you hit and the whole dash and front end feel like an earth quake it comes back. Other times when you hit a bump or the suspension droops it goes away. Biggest pita I’ve ever had. FU Chevrolet.
  11. Fellas I’m done ranting about these pos gm trucks. If I wasn’t in the middle of a move and new home purchase I’d be rid of this truck. I’d like to find a fix to this ticking noise and share with all of you but at this point on top of the ride, interior, axles, and leaf springs... sorry I mean the whole truck Ill be trading for the first good ford or ram deal I find. Cheers
  12. Jobs not hard but then again I’ve been doing this work for many years. 150 dollar gamble on the ticking noise and the house won again. I just read a review on the 2019 Silverado and apparently the ride and interior haven’t improved so it’s safe to assume other issues may follow. I understand the grass may not be greener on the other side but when I start to compare gm to ford or ram it’s like nothing about my truck is a winner other than the looks. I think Chevy went backwards with the new model making it look and ride like a 2014 tundra.
  13. Replaced mine this week had no effect.
  14. Tried this morning and I think it works but only temporarily. This must put pressure on a body mount, exhaust, shock, or anything that’s making this noise
  15. So do you have to do this every time the ticking starts
  16. You made a wise choice. I recently replaced my vacuum pump after trying almost everything else and that didn't fix it either. I noticed that the service writers won't even attempt to acknowledge the sound or issue. Ill be trading for a ford or ram very soon and after my experience with General Motors, I don't plan to ever return. Truth is I don't really care about the number of problems I've had with my chevys but acknowledging the flaws and fixing the issues is what keeps customers. I was brand loyal until my last two trucks. Good luck!
  17. Maybe the cheaper ones (i.e. toyota) but the 50-60k sewing machines (GMC and Chevy) should not sound that way. Otherwise, faithful customers such as myself will stop being so faithful. I hope your reading this GM.
  18. I would agree but I had a 16 model that didn't have the tick.
  19. I agree. To get little things like 4-auto and auto HVAC you really have to pay. And I really dig the new 2019 rams as well.
  20. This will be my next step. 2018 F150s look good but that 10 speed has me skeptical.
  21. I like this look. Would you say the ride is better unloaded around rough town/city driving? Also, have you noticed any difference in wear on your front tires?
  22. Has anyone tried a heavier weight oil? I noticed you can barely hear the ticking and rattle in the winter time.
  23. I agree it must be the cats. I am hoping someone will chime it who has had theirs replaced with luck.
  24. The last few posts here are spot on with what I hear. My dealer said couldn't duplicate and is normal. I can put up with a lot but a loud ticking noise isn't something I feel I can live with. If I don't resolve this soon i will be moving to a ford or 2012-2013 chevy if I can find one.
  25. Let me know if anyone has had similar issues and how you fixed it. On my 2017 Silverado I not the carpet was wet only on the passenger side. Front to rear. Nothing wet along the firewall. No signs of water coming in from headline anywhere. Pressure relief on back of cab is good. I cannot find the source. Insulation was saturated throughout. This could’ve been this was for a week or so but I am just noticing it.
