  1. Yeah I’m thinking of tackling it myself, doesn’t seem too bad at all
  2. I will check them out! This is on pavement, but I understand what you mean. No 4x4 likes to do turns on pavement, but it’s just idling along with little gas going straight you can just hear it but the resistance you known it’s not right
  3. I have a 2009 Silverado with the turn button select auto 4x4, just recently I’ve had problems with the 4x4. The truck is perfectly fine in 2nd drive no sounds, drives fine all is good, when I put it into 4x4 high or low I feel a lot of resistance and you can hear whining and noise, the second you select 2wd you can feel the resistant release and noise gone. I’ve got 2 shops look over the truck, they both have deamed it to be in the transfer case. im guessing a bearing is gone or something. A reman is over $2000 cad, brand new from GM is $2300 cad, so obvs I’d go brand new over reman for the price. Shops rebuilding want $1200-$1800 but all are sketchy on warranty… So I’m lost now, I want to try to rebuild it myself it’s about $300 for the bearing and seal kit from rock auto, follow a parts blow up and manual and slowly take my time to rebuild it, watching videos doesn’t seem too bad. what’s everyone’s thoughts? How is Rebuilt transfer cases if you have a good mechanical back ground ? How is it? thanks!
  4. I have a 2009 Silverado RCSB, my door locks seem to stop working. Sometimes it will unlock the driver side door but only half unlock the passenger side. If I sit there with the door open and press the lock/unlock button on the door panel you can hear clicking coming from that inside fuse panel. I know the door locks work, buttons work, fuses are good, my guess and research on this topic brings my to that relay? My guess is the relay is bad and power is being sent into it and than it’s just clicking cause it’s burnt out and power can’t get thru it to go to the lock actuators? From what I read you have to pull that whole fuse panel out unsolder the relay to install a new one. is this the right direction to go or am I researching and reading the wrong things? Lol
  5. Hello Everyone, I’m not new to the forum but new member, ghost reading for years just decided to post the age old question to get some new responses on the topic, while reading other posts, threads and forums on this 5.3 build. I have a 2009 RCSB 4x4 5.3, I’ll be building this truck up slowly but plans are to lower it down and make it my 4 season toy and driver. I want to do a 5.3 build on the side and than do the swap when it’s ready, so Aim, Point and shot your best budget friendly fun 5.3 build you’d add to the list like: cam, heads, programming, exahust… ect If a 6.2 option comes avaliable to me I might make the jump at the right deal, but for now 5.3 power and price is niceeee
