  1. That looks great Arth! Love the black, almost makes me wish I got black...almost.
  2. Looking forward to the pics! I questioned my 45 degree fitting on the CSS but apparently it's the new setup and the instructions need new pics. See my pics for the 45 degree routing. Either way will be a nice setup.
  3. I get plenty of grip with the three hole and find that sometimes I even use two fingers to close the doors. Really liking these more and more now that I've had them installed for a bit. Not sure if the four hole would be better but then again I'm very careful with my vehicles and the doors on these trucks are fairly easy to shut. I installed them low on the door because I am leveling with larger tires soon but I could see the four hole being beneficial if installed higher up. I don't think my pinky finger would be much use where I have them installed. I guess I would recommend four hole if you have concerns three is enough, that way if you need a full four finger grip it's available.
  4. OK and your point? Like I said this is on par price wise with the Elite can that everyone and their brother seems to be installing and in my opinion this is a nicer more complete factory looking kit. I'm sure all the guys running Elite cans would want to know their can also costs more than pure silver by weight. I posted this thread because I am honestly impressed with the kit and wanted to introduce people to this kit since I haven't seen anything on it yet. A $400 catch can is definitely not for everyone and yes a cheap universal can will work, not as well, but it will work. This is coming from a guy who has King shocks front and rear on order and I feel like they are worth the money as well. Just like the can, cheap shocks work too. Not as well, but they work. If you are going to do it, do it right.
  5. There are cheap "universal" options out there for about that money if you are OK with the look and function as a puke bottle. In my opinion $400 for a super nice factory connection kit isn't bad at all. I didn't spend 50k on a truck to put a water bottle and rubber hose on it. Plus, these are actual baffled catch cans designed to do the job they are installed to do.
  6. Joe, awesome news for the 6.2 guys and anyone who wants one of these awesome kits. Thanks for posting!
  7. I think it's 5.3 only. Not sure what the difference is but I'm sure it's just hose length/routing. I'm sure they could get you setup with something to work if you called or emailed.
  8. I did not connect a hose to the drain yet. Seems there's plenty of room to get a bottle or pan to drain into so I really didn't think about it yet. The valve has npt threading so a simple pipe nipple and rubber hose could be added. The can is 12 oz capacity according to UPR. Here's the link to the kit I purchased. They also have the same kit without the clean side separator, $100 cheaper I think. http://m.uprproducts.com/chevrolet-gm-billet-oil-catch-can-dual-valve-css-silverado-53-14.html The clean side separator isn't super necessary, Elite has one as well, and is mainly to catch the little bit of oil mist that is returned with no manifold vacuum (wot). Basically if you run the truck hard it may be worth it but really I figured why not. Adds a little dress up to the engine bay and matches the whole kit and can.
  9. It's mounted to an aluminum bracket that bolts to the brake master/booster stud. 90 degree bracket. Sure, $400 is expensive for a catch can but it's comparable in price to the Elite which everyone seems to run. By the time you buy the top end Elite and upgrade to braided hose it's the same price. This one comes with the factory style quick connect fittings which in my opinion make it a bit nicer. I'm a sucker for a clean setup and since I'm running the factory intake it just seemed like the best choice. UPR makes great stuff. Ran their suspension components on my fox bodies back in my drag racing days.
  10. Installed my catch can today and wanted to post a semi install thread as well as my impressions on this kit since I haven't seen anything about this can yet. I purchased the UPR dual valve Catch Can with clean side separator mainly because I have always had great luck with UPR products in the past and I absolutely love the braided hose with oem style quick connect fittings. Pricing is on par with Elite, this kit ran me $400 shipped to my door including the clean side separator. First off, I did have a slight issue with the kit (missing hose) but UPR made it right and shipped the missing hose the day I called and had it to me in a day. Install was a breeze, everything fit perfectly with absolutely no issues. This is a seriously high quality kit - everything from the machining on the bracket, finish on the can itself, and the high quality hose and fittings is top notch. All hoses are assembled with push connect fittings and oem fittings, no hose clamps, and are already assembled to the correct length. Check valves are included, I chose to upgrade to the pro series check valves only because they were out of stock of the regular ones and I didn't want to wait. The can also has a ball valve on the bottom for easy draining. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves but bottom line is if you have a stock intake this kit is as good as it gets. I did speak to the UPR guys about going to an aftermarket intake later on and they said they can supply the hose and oem fittings to adapt to whatever intake I chose so the kit would still match. 11. The bronze are sick. I chose machined face because I'm leaving all the small chrome accents on my ltz and thought the bronze would clash. Bronze would look amazing on your blue rig! Do it!
  12. Yikes, got any pics of the damage?
  13. Jamhandle.com check them out. Super cheap and come with high quality 3m double sided tape installed. Just stick on the door and go.
  14. The shop that scratched them owes you new wheels, end of story. No cheap repair will be good enough or last. You spent big money on wheels and there are plenty of shops that appreciate that and can mount tires without scratching your wheels. I did mine locally for that reason exactly. I wanted to deal local just in case something like this came up. Sorry to hear but I wouldn't stop until they replaced the wheels they messed up. Anyway, here's a teaser of my new shoes. Method NV 0 offset with 295/70/17 RT's.
  15. Gave her a bath and installed my Jam Handles today on both the front driver and passenger door. This is an awesome product and a must for black vehicles! No more finger prints on my paint!
  16. Finally got a min to make a quick video of the aFe Rebel exhaust. Sorry for the bad quality, the gopro didn't work out sound wise so this is from my iphone on lunch real quick. Didn't come through as loud as it really is.
  17. Haha it's going to be a while before I get the truck done but I will definitely get some nice pics when it is. Wheels tires and Kings are on order but I am really trying to wait out the winter here before installing. Going King 3.0 front, 2.5 rear, Method NV's with Toyo RT in 295/70/17. Oh and Mazzulla upper arms.
  18. Any pics of how you zip tied the fender liner back to fit these? Your tires come out to almost the exact same size as I am wanting to run on 0 offset wheels as well. I will be going 295/70/17 on 0 offset methods.
  19. I'll get the GoPro out this week and see what I can do!
  20. Hey guys, so I haven't seen any reviews or much of anything on the AFE Rebel exhaust so I figured I would give it a shot. Almost pulled the trigger on the Gibson Metal Mulisha but got cold feet that it may be too loud. Plus I didn't like the giant tip and I wanted something a bit different. I stumbled on the AFE Rebel completely by accident just browsing pics of side exit exhaust systems and loved the look! I got the polished tip version to match the small chrome accents on the truck but they have a black tip version too. Snagged it for $620 shipped directly from AFE and it shipped super fast, next day actually, and I had it within three. I must say this is a very high quality exhaust, all stainless, no "tuning" needed to get the pipes to fit together or anything. It came with band clamps and a new hanger mount for the rear. Installed in no time using a lift and I had no issues besides a minor leak from the slip connection going into the muffler but I doubled up on the clamps because I had an extra and it seems fine. The seal to the factory pipe is excellent but I did go ahead and buy a new clamp from the dealer first. Sound is exactly what I was going for. Nice low rumble, pretty aggressive note but definitely not too loud. Its a very smooth quality sound with no rasp or harshness to it. Cold starts are mild, definitely not wake the neighbor loud if you are worried about that. Only downside is V4 drone is terrible. I immediately ordered a Range device after the first drive. In V8 mode its still quiet enough to have a conversation at normal volume but you can definitely still hear it cruising down the highway. Overall I am extremely happy and impressed with this exhaust - 100% would buy again. If you are looking for a mild-aggressive exhaust that has a deep tone and a different style exit check it out.
