i took my truck in on Saturday. the trans tech doesn't work on Saturdays but they said that since this was the third time i was coming into the shop and mentioned a transmission issue they were aware of my vehicle. i mentioned that at times it was like driving over rumble strips and the service manager said yup. we dont even need to drive it it sounds like a torque converter, were going to replace that for you. they didn't even need to drive it! i was very surprised. i guess they are ordering the part today and will install it as soon as it comes in. aside from that they are doing the 25K service. is there anything special that they do on a 25K check?

Ugh this is so frustrating. I kind of want to make huge stink and make them address this. At least the two time tranny flush. That seems to help a lot. Although I am not sure why flushing it would help...

Wow that is total BS... would you consider getting a custom tune to smooth it out and void the warranty?

wow well that goes to show how half a@@ed they developed the 8 speed with the new 10 speed coming out now...

wait so they still make the 6 speed for 2017? that doesnt make any sense... I thought all V8 trucks were 8-Speeds now (not sure about the V6's)

i have an appointment for saturday morning to address the hard shifting. for the 3rd time... i will keep everybody posted. i am going to bring up the printout from another memeber that identified my problem exactly and they replaced the Torque converter to fix

i am so pissed about this... a 50K truck that i love but its maddening to drive at this point. i really hope the techs actually LISTEN to me this time... its ridiculous to have this happen. the reason i bought a 16 with the 8 speed was i thought they got all of the bugs worked out with the 15's 6.2L 8-speeds... i almost regret not waiting for a newer ford raptor at this point...

So the service notice says that it does not apply to the 5.3? Do you think the dealership will take me seriously if I go to them and hand them this piece of paper and explain this to them?

can I ask them to do this on my 2016 5.3L 8-Speed? i have the same symptoms that it seems like a torque converter replacement and flush would fix...
