Still chasing down a weird issue I’ve had for a while now — wondering if anyone else is experiencing something similar.
Basically, when I accelerate from a stop, I feel a small tapping or thud in the steering wheel. Sometimes it’s subtle, sometimes more noticeable, like a quick thump. It tends to happen:
When turning right onto a bumpy road
Or going straight up an incline or slope
It feels like it comes from the steering column or shaft area, maybe right where the boot is. The dealer already replaced the intermediate steering shaft, but the sensation is still there. Nothing loose that I can tell, no clicking or grinding, just that split-second pop/tap feeling right when the load shifts.
Is this just normal driveline or suspension movement transferring through the steering? Has anyone else chased this before? Or am I just being too picky/******?
