  1. All, Just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue on a newer LZ0 diesel engine... Just passed 2.5k miles and when I came home from work, I found a nice oil streak coming up my driveway. Looking under the engine/trans, I could see the inspection cover leaking a good bit of oil. I think it might be the rear main seal or cover, but the dealer is having it towed in tomorrow to take a look. Super frustrating, especially since I have to take time off work to get this taken care of.
  2. iMO, that is one lazy written article, especially since it applies to both GM brands. Either way, I took a picture of the new slinger/stub shaft back in April and posted it here showing the difference between the two parts. Note, I am almost at 1 year post repair and have had no significant issues.

  4. I have had one on my truck since 2020 and it works great. No issues what so ever.
  5. I bought a Revolver x4s and Installed it myself and it only leaks at the tailgate, however, its not much. I made it loose at the tailgate end so that the tailgate would still drop when I hit the release button. Either way, I am happy with it!
  6. So far so good on my end, it's been hot and I have been doing a lot of driving... no sounds! No I have to figure out why my rear brakes are making noise
  7. Could you pull part numbers off of the Multimatic DSSV front and rear shocks?
  8. Here and here... TSB# PIP5653L.pdf
  9. Better than metal? Honestly I don't think there will be a difference as far as strength is concerned. It just won't resonate sound like metal would. What the slinger is running on, who knows.
  10. Here is an old picture of what it looked like before any repairs were done.
  11. Edit, you can see the slinger just by looking. See attached photo.
  12. Alright, from what I can tell is the metal slinger that covers the bearing is now made of a polycarbonate or plastic material. It also looks like it was glued to the stub shaft as well. I think the logic here is that the metal one was resonating as the stub shaft shifted which caused the noise. You can see the "wear ring" on the inside of the metal slinger which is where I believe it was rubbing on the housing. I will try to keep updating this as I continue to drive more. Edit: I would like to also add that whole looking back old photos, the clip that fits on the stub shaft "looks" bigger on the new one than the old one did.
  13. New stub shaft pic, I'm waiting for the tear down to compare the different parts. Truck just got on the lift.
  14. I have an appointment set for Monday to get the work done. Parts just came in today from what my buddy told me. I should have some pictures then and will update as soon as I can.
  15. Go to your local dealer with the TSB and ask
  16. Yeah they replaced mine too when they did the fix a year ago as well.
  17. So the problem with the "fix" they did before this revision is they used a rubber o-ring under the clip that holds the stub shaft in the diff. This was done to put pressure on the clip to hold the axle in place. This will fail over time and from what I am being told is this revision does not use an "o-ring" to prop the clip up for extra tension. The chirping sound is a lot softer since I had the stub shaft initially replaced a year ago but it came back shortly after (500~ miles). I still have to drive at least 30 miles to get it chirping in warmer weather though. We are going to pull the diff cover when the parts come in to check everything for any abnormal wear. Like I said, I will post pictures of whatever I can so others can see.
  18. Yes, I have had the stub shaft replaced once already. We are going to do a comparison of parts when I get this done. New parts will be here in about 10 days and I will take some pictures of the repair/parts.
  19. Here is the new TSB# PIP5653L that calls for a shaft replacement. See attached TSB# PIP5653L.pdf
  20. Yeah you will be fine. Other brands have issues too. Years ago, I got a brand new 2014 335i M-Sport, 200 miles the nav screen failed, the alignment was off so bad that they had to replace a knuckle, but wouldn't warranty tires, tail light fell out on the highway, and the list goes on. My 2007 Subaru WRX STI had bad piston rings but Subaru said I abused the car and would only pay for half. This was a well known issue too. GM has done a decent job at taking care of me and my concerns and you will be fine as well.
  21. My dealership charges almost 3k for that "package" and swears that they use a ceramic coating on the paint... Although, I think its bs
  22. I have a 2020 AT4 with Wrangler Duratrac and have sport mode on my truck. Might be a change for 2021?
  23. I’m working on purchasing the SU5 front axle from a local dealership in the next few weeks to solve the issue for good. I was able to go a few thousand miles after the fix before the sound returned. Problem that we are facing is that GM wants a vin for me to order the part.
