  1. I just bought these, I am installing them tomorrow, I'll post pics when I get them on. To me they had the nicest look and tuck tight to the rocker which I prefer.
  2. Ruger LCR .357, and a Sig P938 or a STI 2011 in .45. I had a Shield for a while, awesome guns and definitely cheap to get.
  3. Yeah I would not change your blackout theme, those look amazing. Black and chrome makes for a really handsome, classy truck, and I generally don't like completely color matched trucks, but the new Silverado does look really sinister when it is color matched - especially black. The midnight editions are awesome looking trucks. They had a regular cab midnight edition at our dealer. I was tempted to get it because of how awesome it would look lowered as a sport truck, BUT we've got too much family and things to haul.
  4. I would have liked the paint matched bumpers instead of chrome, but I got too good a deal on the Texas Edition to pass it up. At least it is in my favorite color, black! Mine is bare bones right now, but I'll be doing exhaust, bed liner, and a level first.
  5. You might also be mistaking the pause during an upshift for slip too? The 6 speed in these trucks really reminds me of the way my old Duramax with the Allison 5 speed shifted. There is a fuel cut I believe, tuned in that reduces power during the shift to prevent transmission damage. It can feel odd especially up going up hill when it shifts, and will send you toward the steering wheel during a shift if you aren't used to it. The Duramax would bounce your face off the steering wheel between WOT shifts.
  6. That's reassuring to hear, I really like DI and the 5.3 itself. AFM and the odd 6l80e shifting strategy are the only things that bother me. Being that I am a tinkerer and fix all my own stuff, as well as tune it, it sounds like it will never be a problem. At least not one that I lack the capability to prevent. Once the engine is broke in on mine I plan to start running Archoil because I love how clean it keeps my engines, and have good experience with it fixing stiction and stuck rings. I also only use top tier filters and oil, which get changed around 6-8k miles or so, which is generally around once a year. We have lots of cars and split mileage between them all, but still change oil once a year even if I don't hit the mileage or wear it out.
  7. I am a bit worried about AFM issues as well, I only have 300 miles on the truck, but AFM never sounded like a good idea. Added complexity and failure points, I seem to remember the AFM Dodges having issues with those motors as well. Especially timing chain failures. I always wondered if balance was affected when 4 cylinders were deactivated and how it would affect engine wear and longevity. I'll be deleting AFM and tuning the trans as soon as I am out of warranty for sure. If you want to try something to keep the rings from sticking and clean up junk in the motor caused by AFM, I'd try Archoil AR9100 before I used Seafoam. AR9100 worked extremely well for freeing stuck injectors in HEUI Ford motors, it's the only oil additive I have ever used that actually produced a noticeable difference. I've used it in my gas motors since then to clean up the internals and rings on old used vehicles I buy and add a little protection for the bearings. I usually just order it on Amazon.
