  1. Okay so here is an update on my original post. I was able to replace the door speakers with the exact ones from my 19 RTS. I needed to purchase new dash speakers and went with Kenwood 2.75" Had to splice but they mounted correctly. Dash trim comes off much different that the 19. I went to have my Rockford Fosgate 600x4 amp and Rockville 8" powered sub installed and ran into a bunch of issues. 1. The 22 Refresh has some type of amp in the center console area. Tech said he would have to remove the whole console (full console with floor shifter) and it would be about 6 hours labor. Nope. Stopped that and reached out to LLJ for a custom harness. Scanned the QR code and it has the IOK radio. He is working on a harness for this model. 2. There is only 2 fuse spots that have ignition sense. I am using them both for my fire department radios and controllers. Had to have one installed. 3. The 3.0 diesel doesn't have much room on the passenger side firewall to punch through to run power. Had them run power for the amp while they powered the sub. Now, for those asking, the stock speakers aren't heavy enough to weigh down papers in my garage so replace them immediately. The radio itself can power the new speakers and they are crisp but not much volume. Had the update to fix the static. New sub sounds very good (just needed a little thump). Once I get the harness and time to install, I will update on the amp. Dealer said not much info is out on the 22 Refresh yet. Hope some diagrams and other info come soon.
  2. I recently upgraded to the 2022 RST Refresh 3.0 and am looking for info on speaker replacements. I had a 19 RST and pulled the door speakers (aftermarket Infinity) out when traded. Crutchfield doesn't have anything on their website for sizes and options. Looking to see if the door speakers will fit from my 19 and what size/best option for dash speakers. I have an amp and sub that will be going in over the winter but want better clarity and sound while I wait. Thanks in advance.
  3. So I am in the process of building a 22 RST 3.o and am wondering about the compatibility of the door speakers. I built an upgraded system in my current 19 RST and debating between the Bose in the AS Plus Package(I don't need the sliding rear window option) or move my current stuff over. I had Bose in my 16 LT and loved it. I don't need to shake fillings loose but love clarity and a bit of thump. Does anyone know if the 19's will fit? Crutchfield doesn't have an option for the 22's yet. Thanks.
  4. So my 19 RST is in the shop for a new transmission. Went 45k without any major issues. Now there seems to be a slight tap from the engine too. I have seen some of the stories of the 3.0 and know exactly what the 5.3 is already. I have an opportunity to trade in and trade up to either the LTD RST or the refresh with the 3.0 (Both I have to order). I am only getting 13mpg right now and tow a decent amount (7k trailer) but want to get more MPG and better reliability. Warranty is running out and I refuse to buy an extended one. Been a GM guy since I started driving in 1985 and don't want to go anywhere else, plus wife gets GMS. Need help with any input on if this is a good decision. I know fuel is skyrocketing but I need dependability.
  5. I am in need of some help. I've had radios reception issues from day one with local channels not coming in clearly. I am in a suburban area and don't have tall buildings or mountains to block it. My other vehicles have no problem receiving the same channels side by side in the driveway. I have the IOR (junk) and have since installed a Rockford Fosgate amp and new speakers as well as different antenna's. Same issue. I also installed a set of RC 10" LCD grille lights and when I power the switch, the radio goes to all static until I power off the RC lights witch. It has been to the dealer for other tings and recalls but they can't find an issue. Right now, I use Apple Play with Pandora and i Heart Radio with no problems. My question is, do I have a bad radio module, bad antenna system or a bad ground somewhere? How do I check for these? Thanks.
  6. I was thinking along the same lines until my mechanic (not dealer) told me that if I just do the muffler and there are issues that GM may not cover any warranty issues related. He said that he talked to a GM tech and that only direct replacements are covered. I was putting a Magnaflow on in place of the stock POS with flapper. I am looking now at the aFe or Flowmaster 40 cat back set up and keep the current bumper tips.
  7. Okay so I have to admit, I’m feeling pretty stupid right now. I have the 19 RST 5.3L 8 speed and I’m looking to replace my muffler. I am going with the Magnaflow but they have 3 length options. My existing pipe is 2.5” OD. It measures 21” at the muffler itself. Here are my questions: Do I order the 2.5” muffler or do I need a bigger size since my pipe is 2.5. Again, feeling dumb because I never did exhaust myself. Also do I clamp or weld on place. I plan on cutting the pipe to have a direct fit without any add in pieces of pipe. Is a smaller length muffler better for flow and sound or doesn’t that matter. Thanks for the help. I have the screens covered and it sounds good but I like the new Magnaflow sound.
  8. Some outstanding information on this thread. Besides having reception issues, I am sorry I didn't get the Bose factory system but have a question. I can get my hands on a Bose amp for a good price. What all do I have to do to my existing standard receiver to accept the Bose Amp. Is there a harness I need? I am replacing all 6 speakers with JBL's from Crutchfield so hopefully the sound improves. Thanks again for all this info.
  9. Mine said the same thing. Daytime is okay and kicks out at times. I also get the service rear camera notice and screen goes blank. At night it gets real fuzzy with lines through it. Took it to the dealer and they said they didn't find any issues and I even showed them the video. They said there is nothing they can do. Sad!
