I got mine done Friday. Paid an arm and a leg to the dealer to get it done. They had it for the entire day and even though the latch was there and wired they had problems and GM told them to replace the latch with the one in my kit. Not sure if it it was faulty or what. Either way I'm loving the remote start.

Not yet. I reached out to a local dealer and played dumb just inquiring about adding remote start. The parts guy didnt come off as very knowledgable and said he couldn't see it for my truck despite me logging into the chevrolet website searching my vehicles VIN and see the part as compatible. I didn't push it when him either and instead I reached out to dealer selling OEM parts on ebay and they checked my VIN and said it would work so I said F it and purchased the kit as it appears you need the activation code that comes with it despite not needing the other parts. I just received the kit in the mail actually so now I need to start calling more local dealers and see if anyone can install it and knows what the heck it takes. From what I see its just a BCM program and learning the two new oem keyfobs to the truck. How about you any luck yourself? or just sitting back waiting?

I also have a 2018 custom and would like to add remote start. It appears I have the hood latch and its plugged into the wiring kit but its strange that when I have the truck running and open the hood I don't get a dash notification. Do we just need keyfobs and programming or do we need the full 22997089 remote start kit?? I scanned the QR code for my trucks RPO codes and I dont see AQQ which I've seen other treads/sites mention was required so I'm just unsure how to proceed.
