  1. If your drivers side cross over pipe is one piece part number (16SE4554). It will hit the top of the rear end. Corsa has a two piece cross over pipe that connects in the middle behind the heat shield for the spare tire part number’s (16SE4582) and (16SE4583). I had to verified I had the correct head pipe since it didn’t match the parts list. In doing so I found the up to date parts list online. When I questioned if everything was correct otherwise I was told yes. Even thou the drivers side was now a two piece design. After install I called to question the clearance and was told it would be good. The new two piece design covered the max tow package with the bigger rear end and not to worry. My truck doesn’t have the max tow package but the exhaust hit the rear end under movement. Causing damage to the harness over the rear end. It took multiple calls to get the correct drivers side pipes sent out. When calling Corsa it was confusion on their end. Verifying what I needed wasn’t bad but getting the parts was another story. After a week I called again since I had not received the parts. Told it would be overnighted originally. They had zero idea who I was and no order of the correct pipes under my name. Was told the order was in but still nothing a week later. Wasn’t until the third time I called that I got the correct parts. Ended up fixing the harness myself since Corsa wouldn’t take responsibility. Basically if you don’t buy from them and you use a vendor they can’t guarantee you will get the most recent exhaust. Your instructions and the ones posted on the Corsa site are probably different. Corsa should put a warning about the updated kit parts but haven’t yet. The Corsa exhaust sounds good but this last experience will probably be my last kit from them. For the price I would expect a higher level of knowledge when calling in to verify parts in the kit and changes over the run of production on the truck.
  2. All seemed good unloaded but with people and cargo is when it hit. Might be good if it’s a Trail Boss or AT4 but stock 4x4 mine hit.

  4. If you have the advanced trailing package on the GMC or whatever Chevy may call it. At least the upper trim trucks. You will need to get the brake and turn signal from under the dash. My cap came with a Curt wiring harness that has a logic box but it doesn’t work right. On mine the right turn signal makes the third brake light flash. The left side works normal. It’s been awhile and still no updated harness for my cap.
  5. I’ve got the Corsa CAI which is a Volant, the Corsa catch can, and Corsa exhaust and have had no check engine lights come on. Just unhooked the battery during install and the truck relearned the new CAI. My truck is a 2021 with the 6.2.
  6. You need to pull the fog lamps outs. Behind them is one bolt on each side that holds the corners of the skid plate in. Since the old one is garbage it’s easier to use side cutter pliers to cut the tabs that hold the rest of the plate on. Some you maybe able to pry on so the tab releases. Get the new one first for comparison. This is what I used after the dealer put the front plate on even thou I told them not to.
  7. My salesman was put off by GM putting the 8-speed transmission back in the SLT trucks. They sold a lot of trucks with current owners wanting the 10-speed. If you were new to GM people didn’t care about the transmission option. My 8-speed truck was good but when I ordered my truck it had to be a 10-speed.
  8. Sierra ones are the same. Plus they have a kit that includes the center console pieces.
  9. The 8-speed became standard on SLT models earlier in the 2021 calendar year instead of the 10-speed because of supply issues.
  10. The 5.3 with 10-speed has more standard equipment at that price. When you click on the next tab the boxes are already checked for you with the packages that are required. The 8-speed is the base SLT package.
  11. GM will not replace the slider with a solid window but you can do it on your own.
  12. It’s still only a $300 dollar price difference on the SLT model. On the GMC site where you compare models it makes you think the price is more but on the standard bed model they default to a diesel model and put a few different options to drive the price up. If you price out separate you will see the smaller price difference. GM could make it easier and compare similar models but they don’t.
  13. They come apart and relock better in warmer weather. The winter is a wipe down. Maybe next winter will be better after they have been broken in.
  14. Unless you find a killer trade in deal with the inventory levels being short keep what you have. Just put a solid window in and forget about the leak altogether. You seem happy with the truck otherwise.
  15. On the quality of the work do you know if it was a small mom and pop place or a chain place doing the work? I believe the odds increase if it’s a mom and pop place doing the work. Even if the slider does leak again just the fact of no scratches, marks, sealant anywhere shows quality work.
  16. Had a Leer plug and play harness on my 2018 Sierra and never had a problem. Now overall quality of the caps that’s a whole different subject.
  17. With the time of removing the cap and reinstalling it. Plus the wait time of getting into the dealer. Dealers glass guy is careless. It all added up to time is money. In addition to knowing the reputation of the guy I used help with the choice.
  18. The place I used thought it was extreme and suggested just resealing the slider early on. He does work with a local GMC dealer and got a solid factory window from them. In the end he said it’s your money and was confident in his work on a truck with under 300 miles. I think most shops are intimidated by removing the interior trim pieces and seat back.
  19. I did the swap all on my own. Never gave the window a chance to leak. With getting a cap I wasn’t dealing with moving that to deal with the window. The glass guy had a good reputation and not a scratch or sealant mark anywhere. I ordered my truck and you can’t delete the sliding window. It was close to $700 with a GM solid window. A few of the chain places can do it for under $500. I went with the local guy who does most of the car dealers so he had the experience.
  20. There have been plenty of guys here who have gone solid window with zero problems. I ordered my 2021 truck and had a local glass place order a solid GM window. I had my truck less then a week and had the window switched out. They don’t remove the spoiler. They did remove the upper portion of the back seat and seat belt trim pieces. If you look at the truck you would never know because the glass guy did a good job. The only sign would be the window switch for the slider in the overhead console still being there but does nothing. The rear defroster still works. Four months later and zero problems. It was probably overkill to do it early on but seeing what the dealers glass guy does to the trucks made me sick. This was worth the piece of mind and not having the down time of going thru the steps GM wants you to do just to get past the warranty period.
  21. The 2019 plus trucks are grouped together for wiring. Probably will change once again when the 2022 models come out. Leer makes a harness for the trucks that don’t have the advance trailing package. Otherwise you have to splice into your wires to make everything work on a truck with the advance trailing package. Leers parent company makes other caps so they all use the same harness.
  22. It’s a 2021 model year only issue. If you don’t sign up for OnStar you keep getting it. If you call OnStar from your truck they can maybe get it to go away for a few hours. GM has a TSB on the issue but has not released an update to fix the problem yet. If you agree to the terms and conditions and don’t give them your credit card info it’s only a temporary fix. The warning comes back after the free period is over. It was sign the paper declining service but now they added the OnStar call to the mix.
  23. What trim did you buy from Lowe’s? Does it have glue on the back side? If so did the backing stay on until you had everything in place?
  24. GM most likely just changed the LED’s in the third brake light and cargo light’s for a different pattern to say they did something. Probably all the same mounting holes. Just like the tail lights will be. All to give everything a family look to it.
