  1. (Oops, pls ignore screen name, we have a 1500 (2018) also...) Note: Regarding discount... Laura Buick is usually aggressive with their pricing 2019 3500 Denali long bed diesel Purchased 12/21/2018 Sticker (with freight) $72,060 Out the door: $59,450 2019 single rear wheel, Denali, off road suspension plus extra HD 220(?) dual alternator package Picked it up, loaded s1000xr motorcycle in the bed, then hooked up new airstream and proceeded to drive 5,020 miles in the next three weeks (I’m so tired of driving) looking for sunshine and warm temps (None found). Truck was great, except requisite DEF fills every 1750 miles Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Back in page number 113 (i think) there is a phone number and a salesperson who's name is Alan mentioned in the body of the receipt. The price and his number are there, so perhaps make it easy on yourself. Parts arrived next day - and everything was perfect.
  3. You’re welcome and Good Luck!! Photos are always welcome after install. If other folks hadn’t posted images & advice on their setup - I would have been lost.
  4. When have you ever been in a room and had 100 % of the people in the room agree on the same thing? It’s $450 not a $4,000 purchase - and 80% (by your estimation) agree on the value of the 5100. I’m unsure what else you need? A consensus? Imagine if you applied that same selection criteria to the question: should i I buy a Dodge? should I buy a Ford? should I buy a Toyota? You’d never make a decision in life - if you’re looking for consensus from “peers.”
  5. We all know “ride” is difficult to describe, and “firmness of ride” is subjective I suppose. If l were forced to answer your question - I would try to convey the difference as: Bilstein offers a more sophisticated, “taut” “firm-yet-flexible “response to uneven terrain under the tires vs a “jolt” or “shudder.” Personally, I’m not someone who usually switches a suspension from stock0 (except our Jeep project + lift) but I promise I’ll go down this Bilstein path again with our next truck - regardless of the truck brand. It’s worth every penny to me to switch struts. Oh, also I mis-spoke earlier about the cost of the 5100’s ... 4 wheel parts invoice enclosed...
  6. While digging for a photo of our Jeep (oooh shoot, this is SO off-topic) ... well I came across the Jeep Pickup prototype truck. It's just ... it's just ... it's just lovely to me. (wiping tear from my eye now) ... I really love this truck, especially in a diesel powered mode. I apologize in advance for my shameful off-topic diversion
  7. Somewhere in there must be a "thank you" to everyone for helping answer your call to offer Cliff Notes from this thread ... and to take the time to offer sensible choices. +1 to TXGREEK posting regarding the 9" vs 10" wheel width option. Hey if you can make it work, without a lift, we hope you post photos with honest feedback about rubbing and required alterations to your suspension. Personally, If there was anything I'd change regarding my setup it's the tire width (10.8") ... but to "get" one apparently has to "give" and I wasn't interested in a lift on this truck, I already have a lifted short-distance vehicle in our lifted Jeep.
  8. I'm embarrassed, i don't know how many settings there are What i do know, is the shop set mine one click from the top setting ... I enjoy perfect harmony (lol) at this setting with the 275x65x20 BFG KO2 setup Your Mileage May Vary of course - but at highway speeds the ride is smooth, truck tracks nicely and is very responsive + comfortable
  9. Additional image: whoops!!!! Forgot to mention slight rubbing when full turn in backing up. Minor trimming solved the problem. 275x60 would prob have fit without rubbing. But I was looking for the highest sidewall possible without a lift. And I didn’t want the leveling-kit option because of reports of diminished ride quality with leveling kits.
  10. FZ71 Skywalker post... i understand - when faced with too many choices we tend to “not choose!” Here is our three week old Sierra 1500 SLT My GOALS: - Custom wheels to improve appearance. - Maintain or Improve factory ride comfort. - A simple “proven” and effective lift solution which was a reasonable cost.much. - Crowd Favorite ...something the majority of reviewers agreed was a great upgrade. - Must Have is a snow rated a/t tire for our mountain passes here in Oregon or Jackson Wyoming. Simple: I just didn’t want a hassle, or multiple shop visits. So a plug-n-play solution Here’s what I did: 20” x 9” Fuel wheels to help fill the fender wells and dress up (a plain looking) truck. Very conservative custom look. 275x65x20 BFG KO2 tires quiet, good ride, proven respected tire with a snowflake symbol (indicating snow rated) Cost wheels and tires: (Discount Tire - $2185 with rebate coupons) Bilstein 5100 (adjustable front) shocks (height set one click from the top setting) set of four shocks $345 + install cost Result: *Better Ride *Improved Handling *Taller stance *Customized appearance Am super happy with end result. This is is a temporary truck for me. I will drive 12 months and donate to my daughter ... Note: this is a 2018 SLT Sierra 1500 with a “Denali-look” grill installed by dealer and front bumper vinyl wrapped (in black) $300 for wrap i hope hope this helps somebody who’s looking for ideas. This is about as simple and conservative + proven as you can get. Would love to have Terra’s on there, with their amazing look (trail?)... have owned them before and loved the look! But I need a highway distance “ride” for those occasional 7 hour+ drive/days.” note: actual final stance is a slight rake with rear higher. This stance appears level, but actual truck stance is slightly lifted in rear. Result: quiet riding BFG’s, better ride overall with 5100’s and a “snow rated” year round A/T tire Smiles Stock setup awaiting Discount Tire install
