  1. i’d prefer to have the option to change the shock... Viking
  2. I saw $850 I thought. $600 aint bad though. Is that for full bolt in front? Not a fan of those t bar style lowers that most use for truck applications. Ive seen the 99-06 model of truck break through the lower control arm easily
  3. Those Belltech's are pricey in my opinion. You're going with the tried and true Vikings.. Don't sweat it
  4. thanks UofAZCats. Took some more pictures of it last night. Love it so far.
  5. finished up the drop. can’t drive it. too much negative camber if that’s the right term. top of wheel is toed in hard and any speed causes tires to scream. install wasn’t bad at all
  6. Go with Speed Engineering long tube headers, Speed Engineering x pipe kit for trucks and run whatever mufflers you want and have the exhaust shop run tips before tire. I'm about to do the same and ditch the y pipe
  7. Truck looks great. I would drop rear another inch but other than that it looks good. I like that color.
  8. Truck is getting a 2" lift hanger now in prep for the flip kit so it looks goofy as hell. Lol
  9. I will take pictures of my location and try to take some measurements even though tire size is a factor on where my wheel will sit after it's dropped with a 2" spindle and 1" strut.
  10. Installing my Maxtrac kit this weekend. Pretty excited. As much as I want to go 4/6 I think I'll leave it at 3/5 for now. I have heard and agree off experience of the Belltech shocks still being rough. I think this time I'll make the jump to dual adjustable Vikings for the rear.
  11. 2WD MaxTrac guys- How was the install and alignment? Pros & Cons? I went with their 3/5 to 5/7 adjustable drop. Going to install it in 2 weeks. I will post up my experience. It'll be the first time I personally install a drop kit on my truck. Having the help of an experience buddy
  12. It would be cool to see a L83 intake ported and compared to a stock L86. For $100 you can get a genuine L86 manifold new so it wouldn't be too costly of a comparison. I just don't want to pay for dyno time. Lol
  13. I think so. But still should see some decent gains with bolt ons only. I have a local single cab to me that has full bolt ons including this upgrade and he's running mid 13's. Going to take mine to the track when weather cooperates. I currently have 1 7/8" long tubes, y pipe, 3.5" exhaust and tuned on e85. Going to see what it runs then go back after L86 manifold/throttle body/ CAI upgrade and see what results are to come. Aiming for 13's. Mine is a crew cab though.
  14. Gwatney claims 9 rwhp/6rwtq on their dyno. Their ported intake made 17rwhp/9rwtq over the stock L83 intake. All while keeping the peak HP/TQ in the same RPM range as stock. But I have read it'll shift power a few hundred RPM's. For about $250 or cheaper it's not a bad upgrade at all. I'm sure the upgraded throttle body size is a bonus for throttle response also.
  15. Wrong thread. Lol
  16. Chris do you have any pics? That w8 is a decent sub and it might be a fun project adding 1 in the center console before I throw a couple subs under the back seat. Plan for right now is 4 DD 506'S but I might buy 1 now to throw in the console spot
  17. Hey guys.. Hate to be the guy but I curious what all I need for Apple Play and some of the iPhone features. My truck is a 2014 LTZ, I have nav (without having to buy it from OnStar), I have the weather app, and a few other small things and I'd like the Apple Play. What do I need to do this upgrade?
  18. This thread is pretty big and it's hard to search.. I know it's probably been posted. But who has the McGaughy's 7-9" lift on 35x12.50 with 22x12's? Looking to set mine at 7-8" for time being.
  19. Well, update. Picked up the 6.2 exhaust over the weekend. Going to go ahead and pull the trigger on longtubes and y pipe from Speed Engineering today. Going to get everything installed and then have a 3.5" Sportsman Borla XR1 installed. Going to leave resonator on there to keep it a little more quiet. Should have everything installed and tuned within a month or so!
  20. True! I'll see what they can do. I just don't want to spend too much on it since it wont be long before I remove the stock header and y pipe! Thanks for the tips
  21. I am getting long tubes and y pipe eventually, for the time being I was going to throw on the 6.2 exhaust with aftermarket muffler for mean time. I didn't realize the ball joint. So I will hold onto the exhaust and wait until I upgrade to y pipe and headers!
  22. I know the diameter is different, I just wasn't sure on the connection if they were different to mat up to the existing y-pipe. I haven't looked but I figured it wouldn't be an issue. I will check it out though!
  23. Hey guys, just purchased my first "new" truck last week for my 22nd birthday. I've already caught the bug for upgrades. I am picking up a factory 6.2 exhaust on Sunday. As far as bolting up to the factory y-pipe, will I have any issues? I wouldn't think so since both are factory exhausts and for same truck model, but it's better to ask now than have the stock exhaust already off and run into problems. I know I should net a little extra power, but I am also chopping off the flapper valve and replacing the stock muffler with a 3.5" Borla XR-1 and leaving the resonator, for now. Future plans will be 1 7/8 headers and y pipe. Anybody have a similar setup with the 5.3's? As far as swapping over to the 3.5" exhaust? I know a lot of aftermarket exhausts are 3.5" to 4" but are pretty pricey. I think for spending $100 on the factory exhaust, $200 for muffler, muffler/valve chopped off, it should be a decent upgrade
