  1. I went with the Borla ATAK cat-back exhaust for my truck (#140797BC). My dad has a Corsa exhaust on his truck and I don't really like Corsa's sound so that's why I went with Borla instead. I also chose to do single side exit, dual tips, because I don't like how the Chevy trucks don't scallop their bumpers for dual exhaust out the rear - just looks funky to me sitting so far below the rear bumper. Also a lot of the older RST/Premiere models in the Tahoes have this same side exit dual pipe look and that's what drew me to this look. Glad they changed it up on the T1's even though I think they're fugly as hell. Highly recommend this exhaust even though it's on the louder end of the spectrum for most people. It will piss off the neighbors if you cold start it at 5am but the idle is music to my ears. Has a great harmonic. It really wakes up when I step on the gas. 80mph cruise control it barely purrs but you can feel it a little in the floor boards. It's nice. 60-65mph and under cruise control, can't hear it can't feel it. No cabin drone. My AFM is disabled with a Range device so no flapper chopper sound. Ugh, is work over yet so I can go waste fuel mileage???
  2. They're hard to find as they're so popular right now. I ended up not being able to snatch up a set for a while so I went with the Sundown Audio 2.75's. I'll post pictures once they're in this weekend.
  3. Wait a minute.........that's not the stock tail pipe!!! ??? Borla ATAK cat-back installed. She's got attitude now. I think my neighbors will get some attitude now too......
  4. Hahaha! Well, I was never intending to replace the speakers but one of my door speakers is blown and is distorting like a stretched out whoopee cushion! Cheap paper cones... I have the upgraded radio but not the upgraded speakers. Never mind that now, the new speakers should get quite a bit louder now! Getting the black beauty tailgate ready for the summer (if we have much of a summer).
  5. What have I done today? Hmmm.....ordered new speakers for the front dash and all four doors, and ordered a Borla ATAK exhaust kit. ? Bit of a shipping lead time right now so it'll be a bit before I receive anything and start installing it. Pics will come later!
  6. I'm using DiodeDynamic's newest line of reverse LED lights. They are built very well and look great - matching set in the reverse and cargo light bays. DiodeDynamics 921 XPR Cool White Reverse/Cargo LEDs
  7. I've seen posts on other forums of people putting in 3" speakers by modifying the housing. I don't know how tight it would be for a 4" speaker though. As for good 2.75" speakers; the Memphis PRX27 below are very, very nice but also very hard to find right now. I have been looking for a week with no luck until I ended up pulling the trigger on a pair of Sundown Audio SA-2.75FR's. They're comparable, I believe slightly more expensive albeit only maybe $20. You can buy them on WoofersETC for $79.99 or Down4SoundShop for I think $54.99. Should be a great set. I don't have them installed yet, still waiting for delivery. The SA's are going in along with a set of SA 6.5" coaxials for all 4 doors. ? Good speakers but htey have been hard to find right now for me. I ended up going with SundownAudio SA-2.75FR's.
  8. Oh, I know. No worries. Just giving you a little bump towards buying them from RK instead. ?
  9. It's not bad but it isn't complete so already up to $450 with s/h. No trim pieces, no inserts, probably no wiring harnesses either or the bracket for bolting it down in the front. I bet by time you gather the rest of the pieces you're up to $6-7-800 depending on where you get them from. I'd rather fully support @pgamboa and get a quality harness plus a BRAND NEW (not "plastic may be scuffed") center console. I already responded to you in the marketplace but get in touch with @pgamboa. He sells new consoles with wiring harness and the '18 upgrade to wireless charging lid too.
  10. Talk to @pgamboa. He can hook you up with everything that you need to do a center console swap, obviously depending on your vehicle year.
  11. The knock-off's are. If you look closely, the texturing isn't like OEM and usually have the silver banding around the Chevy emblem is much different in thickness and quality as well. OEM are like $125+.
  12. Tempted to go the Amp route but also do like the look of physically deployed steps. Still going back and forth... hear horror stories in the Rust Belt about these seizing up and/or freezing the motor on cold, wet, icy days.
  13. Can't beat that, easy fix AND potentially prevented a future issue that wasn't known at the time - the radiator (unless you were having problems with it). Glad you got it taken care of.
  14. Converted to LED bulbs on the rear; cargo, 3rd brake light, reverse, and license plate lights. Went with DiodeDynamics as I've had good success with their product and am a repeat customer from my Charger. I'd say they're super bright, not as bright as some extreme eBay LEDs out there but definitely loving the change to a solid, pure white over the old bulbs.
  15. Yes! Goo Gone. I have a black truck and I used Goo Gone. Can't even tell. I actually had some shadowing in my clear coat that I had to do a Step 3 with but seriously, Goo Gone and a trim removal tool will do the trick. For my shadowing I just used some Meguiar's Scratch X. Looks so much better debadged. Also, some people here have recommended using a 3M eraser wheel with great success, may even be easier than using Goo Gone and elbow grease.
  16. Pretty sure everything on the truck is keyed to match the ignition key. Pretty sure meaning 99% sure as I haven't been able to try otherwise. ? I use the underseat area to lock my gun up if and when I need to, it's great! Not as great as a real console lock box but it's better than nothing!
  17. Just do it. It is so easy. It took me an hour for the 1st door just because I was being meticulous about everything and trying to fully understand the entire process from start to finish. The 2nd door took me 20 minutes and that is including swapping the mirror caps from chrome to black. The hardest part was the damn moisture barrier on the doors. My driver side barrier ripped in 3 different places. ? Tip: use a sharp trim removal tool to sort of... scrape along the seal as you pull it away from the door so it doesn't rip. Lesson learned. Nothing a bit of heavy duty duct tape can't fix.
  18. I don't have any pictures but I did the DL3 mirror upgrade to have all the sweet features. Thanks @pgamboa.
  19. Easy. See if @Frankielozano214 has any more heated wheels available, he's got good prices. Then you need to see if you have the plug underneath your steering column for the heater. Some have it and some don't. Also some apparently have it and it is already hot (can check with a multimeter) and some are dead so you will need an additional fuse block wiring kit (I think). Not sure where you can get one of those since I didn't need one but I bet @pgamboa can help you out. Then you need to figure out what clock spring you need and find one online if Frankie doesn't have one available. Usually any GM parts warehouse will have them or just look around on eBay. I took the chance on the eBay route and actually got the correct clock spring for $24. A lot of "superceded" part numbers flying around with mismatched item pictures in the listings... Buy a heated steering wheel from Frankie Check to see if you have the plug, and check to see if it is hot (Optional) Buy the fuse block wiring kit if the plug is not hot Buy a clock spring for your heated steering wheel Install. Bust your knuckles. Curse and swear. Spill your beer. ??? Warmth
  20. Heated steering wheel just in time for the cold weather. Thanks Frankie.
  21. Wow... and I thought $185/year in MI was bad.
  22. What mother flippin' state do you live in so I know not to move there? ?
  23. Simple solution for me was some Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0 I removed some badges and had the same ghosting/imperfections in the clear coat. A bit of ScratchX made a huge difference.
  24. Upgraded to LED tail lights. Thanks@pgamboa for the awesome wiring harness! Oh, and thanks@frankielozano214 for the sweet tail lights!
  25. Every time I see a Midnight truck just like mine with tow mirrors it makes me wish I had tow mirrors. Truck doesn't quite feel big enough to me so I guess that is how I'm convincing myself that I'm okay without tow mirrors! I just bought some DL3's and the harness to add all the cool stuff; power fold, flood lamps, blah blah blah, etc. Still not tow mirrors though... truck looks sexy!
