  1. I started my truck this morning @ -24°F and didn't see the message, I have the 5.3 with 8spd - I don't warm it up in the morning start wait 1~2min then drive.
  2. Snow traction usually not an issue. Ice what concerns me the most. BFG KO2: weren't good Bridgestone dular revo 2: were auful Goodyears SR-A: okay Coopers Discover AT: my favorite Firestone Destination: okay The falken used to be really cheap when they first came out. Today they are on bar with expensive tires
  3. E rated tires have thicker side walls will be more resilient to punctures if you are running trails
  4. I am in a similar boat. I dont have a leveing kit nor I want bigger tires. However, I am looking at E rated LT265/70R18. Just more load range E in that size vs the stock size. Hoping not to get any rub. One thing to watch for is not only no rubs lock to lock at stand still. but also in motion and while articlating. I use this website to gauge the tires different https://tiresize.com/calculator/ I don't think an inch or two will make that much of a difference at least from previous experience I was never able to tell when I put slightly wider and taller tires on my old truck. Good luck.
  5. Did you get the new part
  6. Have you guys tried renting one from o'riley or auto zone If it is a one time deal why have to store a tool and they probably have better ones. Just an idea
  7. Actually that is one of the things I thought it was unpleasant about the T1. I even compared it to Uncle Buck car. https://youtu.be/OA-FmsSdSMY
  8. Just realized we have an almost identical truck. Do you have max tow package
  9. Nice looking rig. I actually found something that says airbags are bad if used to level the truck but okay to use to stiffen the suspension and to help with porpoising, that is why I am thinking of sumo springs instead of bags plus they are cheaper
  10. Thank you guys for all of the input. Chris, do you have a picture of your setup. Also, i saw this guy on youtube he was towing I think 36ft trailer with and older F150 might been 2006 or so. He said biggest upgrafe was tires and shockes
  11. Aha found it. And it shows 3800 front and back which is compind is more that what is my truck compined. It kind of make sense in a way the axle can handle more that what the truck at max probably away to protect against over loading an axle over the other
  12. Interestingly I only have the one sticker. They must have forgotten to put the other one at the factory. I read that GVWR is higher than adding both front and back. Also, found that I should have weight the truck un hitched. Guees I Have to go back to the scale
  13. And my door sticker reading: GVWR 7100 GCWR 15000 GAWR RR 3800 Max Payload 1979 Max Tongue Weight 960 Curb Wight 5121 And I assumed the GAWR FR + GAWR RR = GVWR so I calculated GAWR FR = 3300 So according to the slip I got feom the scale I am 20lb over the front axel weight, went ahead and removed a link on my WDH and remeasured and got Front axle 3260 Rear axle 3040 Trailer axles 4820 Gross 11120 I am still way below all my limits but still feeling un easy going 55mph. still planning on the sumo spring and possibly belstine shocks. And for sure the LT tires before our trip but I don't know how much that is going to change. Is it going to be enough or I am wasting my time and money? Do I need a better WDH. or am i beating a dead horse? Just need a different setup?
  14. Took it to the scale today and this is what I got
  15. Should show us when you get the new part
  16. It is the cover over the opening for the seat belt. I took them off and put rubber bands and that took care of the problem.
  17. Jealous! I wish we could get some snow. Can't say much about the 10spd since I don't have much to complain about it in my 8spd. All this talking makes me want to try the 10spd. Too bad GM does not offer it in the LTs
  18. Good luck. If you read into an issues with the wheels. You could check eBay for take off wheels. And I presume the 18 going to be really cheap since no one wants them Like other had mentioned the brake caliper is the problem
  19. Same here. And only in the winter
  20. The guy want to have a piece of mind. I mean oil change is like $50 +/- if it doesn't actually help, I am sure it doesn't hurt.
