  1. Have a 2010 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 LC9 motor. Truck has 198K miles on it, runs excellent, engine is very quiet, but uses a little oil. For the past year, maybe year and a half, I've been running a Range AFM deactivator cause I'm scared to death of AFM issues. Past few weeks it sometimes blows a good sized cloud of blue smoke at startup, not every time, just once in a while. Around the same time I installed the Range I also installed the updated left valve cover. Anything else I can do to stop/lessen the smoking? PCV oil separator tank? I just picked up a 5.3 out of a 2012 Colorado with only 19K miles on it. This is an LH9, which near as I can tell is the same engine but without the AFM. Looks like the oil pan, pickup, and exhaust manifolds are different, anything else I need to swap over? I plan to have a tuner delete the AFM from the ECM. Anybody else done this swap? I love the truck, It's a loaded LTZ in real nice shape, and I'd like to keep it for at least 5 more years. TIA, Jim
  2. Just did this swap on my 2010, ended up using the sensors and the sensor mounts out of my original bumper. Had to open up the holes in the bumper with a die grinder, painted all the sensors and mounts with a silver spray bomb. Also put a little silver paint around the edge of the hole where it was ground, to keep it from rusting. Backup sensors work fine. HTH.
  3. Sorry I'm late, don't get on here that much. But you need to check your hub and wheel bearing assemblies very carefully, that's what it sounds like to me, and you're at the usual mileage for them to wear out.
  4. Pretty sure Dorman makes a replacement console cover.
  5. You don't seem to understand, even after refreshing, can't access the site.
  6. SCT X4 may be the best, but you might have the worst web site. Unable to access it, get a huge stupid message to hit refresh, which I did, but keeps coming back up, like a dog chasing its tail. Never saw or heard of this refresh required every time visiting a site before.
  7. The 05 and up front brakes are bigger and a lot better, but keep in mind they need at least a 17" wheel, older 16" won't clear.
  8. If you're in the rust belt, check the fuel tank filler neck very carefully. I thought mine was OK, but a smoke test found it was rotted badly right below where the cap is. HTH, Jim
