  1. Thank you, super detailed.
  2. There is a recall on the 1500 that I have I know for the break controller. I bet the HD are having the same issue. I called to see if I needed to have it looked at before I pulled my trailer, the tech said it did not effect the operation of the break controller. Just if there was a perfect storm of things that happen, if I remember correctly, he said something like this would happen. I too get it regularly and always seems to be set the same.
  3. Little late now, but thanks for the idea..
  4. Wow, your a real smarty. Thats what I said in the post, I was just asking to see the overall width..But thanks for nothing.
  5. Hello all, I was hoping someone could tell me for sure, what the width including tow mirrors, is on the 2020 and newer 2500 HD. I see on the GMC website says like 81.9 but that don't include the mirrors. I am just wondering as I am stepping up form a 1500 soon and it fits into my 102" wide garage but wondering if the 2500 will without bringing in the mirrors. Thanks.
  6. I did, crew cab 4x4 SLT loaded.
  7. Well that would have been great info for him to tell me. The salesman said nothing of the sort. I thought the build sheet he gave me said 2020 on it but I will have to check it out when I get home. I am in no rush so Oct/Nov is cool with me but he didnt say anything about it not being a 2020...
  8. Hey guys, just asked the dealer to put in an order for a new 2020 2500 and they told me there normal lead time was 6-8 weeks, but there not sure how long with the COVID. Anybody have a truck built recently? How long did it take. I guess I am not in any real hurry, just curious. Thanks.
  9. Just ordered my 2500 today. I also pull my new Cougar 27Rel that weighs just over 8000lbs. My 2020 1500 pulled it just fine, but legally I am over the payload and its not worth the chance of loosing everything if something were to happen and insurance not cover it.
  10. Just gave the dealer the thumbs up today to order a 2020 2500 SLT White, with all the options. One thing I didnt know, is they give you the supplier pricing. Which the build price is just under $77k but the supplier price is $72K so thats a good thing, plus then I guess you get whatever the rebates are at that time too. They say normal is 6-8 weeks but think it may be 10-12 weeks. Any thoughts on that build time?
  11. Thanks, I do need to weigh it. And also that’s why I will be going to a 2500 sooner than later.
  12. Looking to upgrade to a 2500 and right now they have $4000 in rebates. I have never ordered a truck before, and they say you get the supplier pricing and rebates at the time of pick up. So do any of you guys have any insider knowledge of what the next round of rebates is going to be? Fully loaded 2500 SLT diesel the supplier price is $71,336 plus rebates.
  13. For sure, that # has a lot of room left on it.
  14. So the 9.76” is the heavier rated axle housing? I know springs and the sticker give it it’s rating, but if I did get airbags the axle is good to go, in theory.
  15. Crawled under and this is what I found.
  16. Is there a sticker or something that I can look for to see which axle it truly has?
  17. So it is the "heavier" axle? just not the lower gears?
  18. Manufactures website. I do have the crew cab 4x4 short box yes. I seen 2200 on the GMC website when I was looking something up, that I looked at the sticker like you are showing here to see the 15xx
  19. I use it to be able to have my dogs in their kennels when pulling my travel trailer and I can use it to get the tailgate fully down. Its pretty awesome..
  20. Tongue weight is, fully loaded, 835 lbs. max tow says 2200 lbs and I have a 1560 lbs payload. Truck is rated to tow 9300 lbs so it not to heavy for the truck. I do plan on running over some scales to see how it’s distributed as I know with the equalizer hitch it helps, and the 835 lbs tongue weight is with no equalizing hitch just straight up on the hitch. Truck sits dam near level hooked up, it’s like 1 1/4” lower then with no trailer.
  21. Where would you get all the special wire harness hookups needed for that beast? Power, remote release, in cab release.....
  22. I do have the Equalizer hitch. Ok thanks.
  23. Fully loaded trailer weight is 8800 lbs. So GM would not offer to amend/replace the sticker if I added the HD package after the fact? I was going to do airbags, but when I let my mind mess with me, the legality of it if something were to happen, I am over the listed payload of the truck is what is steering me towards getting a 2500. I know airbags would help, but not that aspect. Thank you for your info on the heavier axle.
