My 2020 Sierra Elevation 5.3 is making a ticking sound at idle, intermittently; took it to the dealer, they told me it sounds like my lifters, said they would need to be replaced......quoted $8-10k (Canadian) to replace them all. We're at 120,000 km
Now, I've got quite a bit into wheels and tires/lifts/ect; hadn't planned on replacing it any time soon, but now I'm wondering if I should trade it in on something brand new and under warranty before it becomes an issue, or bite the bullet and get it fixed?
Figures, this is the first vehicle I have kept more than 3 or 4 years, usually I flip them well before I'm out of warranty......kind of regretting not doing so here! Pisses me off to be wasting so much $, and makes me paranoid about what else I've got to fix after this
