  1. Well, I found what appears to be the issue...lol. I have been doing this for a long time, and I know I pulled both the fuses in the I/P fuse block #5 & 17 and both were good. I have since reseated many junction block connectors and removed the NEG terminal about 3 times to clear the system. Anyway fuse #17 was blown and I know I would have seen it, but I don't know if moving stuff around casued a surge or I missed the fuse, I'm 99% I didn't but I can't say for sure. So all is good for now, we shall see.
  2. I was looking at this schematic and it appears the orange and gray power the front seat map lights while one is on the other would take over when pressed resulting in a constant light when the door was open. With mine if I turn on the map light the light shuts off and the IC lights dim...same as if I press any map light or open the visor mirror.
  3. This has me stumped, the courtesy lights illuminate with the doors open or when I rotate the dimmer control knob to it's detent at full on..as they should. However they will not turn on with the press of the map light/lens button when the doors are closed and the courtesy lights have dimmed out after a few seconds...this goes for all of the map lights. If the courtesy lights are on, when you press any map light/switch the light will turn off and my instrument cluster lights will dim..same if I open the vanity mirror flap. I have checked the grounds at G200 and G201, both are clean. I have 11.9V at the red wire in the overhead console but 10.5V on the orange. If I probe the red wire to ground it goes from 11.9V with headlights off, and to 11.7V when the headlights are tunred on, if I probe the orange wire I get 10.5V with the lights off but 6.3V with the lights on. I have probed the overhead black wire to both G200 and G201, if I probe to G201 I get .7 megaohms resistance but after a few minutes that steps down as modules go to sleep, after about 25 sec it drops to 360 ohms then to 210 ohms then down to .4 ohms. I have cleaned the gronds under the RF radiator support, the grounds at the LR of the frame. The only thing that comes to mind, is about a year ago, my LR was hit and I didn't notice any damage behind the bumper, about 6 months later during heavy rain, I would get random parking sensor blocked errors on the DIC but the sensors still worked. Later on the LR sensor stopped working and I had a code that came up in the Tech 2 as: I did disconnect all 3 connections at the module in the LR cargo area and my issues still remain. I have reseated all the junction block connectors behind the left and right panels in the front door area at the dash, not sure where to check or if the shorted sensor caused an issue with the BCM. Everything works in the vehicle except the map lights dim the IC lights when pressed but no light turns on, and the obstacle avoidance is not working until I replace that sensor. All input and criticism appreciated.
  4. Well, sorry to sound so negative with my minimal post count (long-time-lurker) but this is only to hopefully help improve GM with their decision making. I have no problem with a crew cab only model, but they really need to get their heads out of their A$$3s if they want to compete. Why? Because the RAM destroys GM with the interior. One HUGE reason is with the RAM crew cabs, YES, with the rear seats of the Crew cab Laramie with seats AGAINST the glass, the rear seats RECLINE. They even have more room with the Mega cab. There are MANY people that would love the towing capacity of a 8.1 Suburban in a truck, however one thing is missing....PASSENGER COMFORT! There really are families that would like to move from a SUV to a truck for LONG HAULS, not short 30 min adventures. These families have more than 2 people and have to sit in the back. The base model rear seats aren't much different than a fully decked out LTZ or High Country. They are decent, but by no means plush and relaxing.. So I would recommend GM offering the reclining and folding option in EVERY TRIM model, which Ram only offers in 1500 Laramie / Limited and only Mega cab 2500 Models. Ford doesn't even offer this yet. I will be choosing a Laramie 1500 or a 2500 Mega Cab over any GM because I care about family comfort on long trips. Unless they can get this changed.
  5. As a lifelong GM fan, I have been back and forth about purchasing either a GMT 800/900, also considering a 2015+. I have recently re-kindled this search only to find myself utterly perplexed in how the interior design could remotely have received any type of approval. This applies to the LWB, not the Tahoe in which all solid-axle Tahoe/Yukon models have an utterly useless 3rd row unless you like your knees in your chest. With that being said, these are for the most part spacious, people and cargo movers, focusing more on the people side. These vehicles are over 2 feet longer than a Toyota Highlander and have less knee and leg room. I was shocked to find out the 2nd row seats cannot move fore and aft, the 3rd row passengers need to get their foot placed between the seat mounts of the 2nd row seats with very limited moveability. In addition, the 3rd row seats backs are fixed in the Suburban / Yukon XL offering no additional reclining feature, I get the fact the rear cargo room is vastly superior to many vehicles, but perhaps leave that to the owners to recognize if they are transporting a higher bias of people or cargo on any given outing. This way the owners can allow more leg room to the passengers. Sure, the 3rd row isn't geared to people that are 6.5+, but the foot room is horribly inadequate for a vehicle of this size, pic included. Suburban 3rd row leg room and is fixed. To compare this to the Highlander, there's no obstructions for the passenger's feet, and there is another 3" of leg room avail if needed. For the record, I will own a Suburban over a Highlander but this is to document how poorly these LWB GM vehicles are configured. 2015 Highlander 3rd row legroom with 2nd row seats in the middle position. The seat only looks close to the floor but had adequate clearance, more than a Tahoe so your knees aren't folded into your chest. I don't understand why GM didn't incorporate the 2nd row seats to move fore and aft. There's no denying the fact this platform has served many people and have few complaints, there really isn't much competition to the Suburban/ Yukon XL. Yes, I'm late to the party and it just never occurred to me that the interiors were so poorly thought out given the interior volume, So this is just a rant and maybe they can figure this out in the future. Feel free to add any input and criticism.
  6. Show me an electric vehicle that I can sit in a closed down highway for 20+ hours, 20 deg F ambient, running the heat without the battery going dead and still have over 100 miles of range once the traffic clears that can tow over 8,000 lbs during this ordeal. The sheep will buy into this ridiculousness of non-petroleum powered vehicles.
