  1. Pic of my new one. And pic of the new and old. New is 3500HD Denali and old is 2007.5 Silverado 2500 LTZ shortbed
  2. I was going to buy a 2019 when the 2020's hit the lots last fall. Made the mistake (blessing) of test driving a 2020 and fell in love. Here in Texas, they were asking full MSRP for all trucks last fall. Wasn't going to pay full MSRP so I decided to wait until the 2021's hit the lot. COVID hit and GMC was offering great rebates starting in June so I started shopping early. I knew I wanted a dark colored 3500 Denali so kept an eye on the inventory anywhere within 1000 miles of me. Dealerships from time to time would heavily discount a fleet of trucks. With the discounts, the Denalis were below $70k. Would find one in St Louis, Tampa Bay and finally pulled the trigger on one last week in Little Rock. A week prior, I test drove one from a local dealer and they were MSRP minus the $4k GMC rebate. Would not match any prices anywhere close to $70k. I flew to Little Rock and drove it 7 hours home. Spent $200 on airline ticket and a tank of gas but saved $6-7k on any local dealership price. I think I was smiling the entire 7 hour trip home. I went to the GMC website and built a truck the way I wanted it. After you build it, you can hit "view inventory" and it will pull up all the vehicle matching your build. The thumbnails that pull up have close to MSRP prices but if you click every truck to get a closer view, a few dealerships would have a dealer discount on top of the GMC rebate. The total discount would be $9-12k less than MSRP. It was time consuming but well worth it. I was able to find these deals in June, July and August. They would typically have 5-7 trucks of the same model/build, one of each color. They would last about a week and then be gone. The dealership I bought from had 6 at great price and were gone within a week. Spoke with my salesman when I picked my truck up and he said 4 of the 6 were sold to out of state buyers. I was TX, 3 of the other trucks were sold to buyers from CA, TN and FL. I built with the Denali ultimate package, technology package and 5th wheel package. I stopped adding the convenience package (console vault/rear seat storage), protection package (floormats) and gooseneck hitch package (gooseneck ball) because you can add all of that after market for a lot less and not much work.
