It started burning oil, or at least showing it, the 2nd year that I owned it. My oil light came on and it needed almost 2 quarts. We have been monitoring it ever since. But until October of this year, GM would not look at it unless it lost a quart of oil in 1,000 miles. Mine was always 3/4 of a quart at 1,000 miles. Just found out about an bulletin from October that said that they changed it to 1 quart in 2,000 miles, so I am running it by GM again.
Took it in the other day for a loud ticking noise and some regular missing at idle. They came back and said lifters for the ticking. And I think something about the crankshaft for the missing that I was feeling. I have it at another dealer today for a 2nd opinion. I am wondering if the oil burning issue contributed to the lifter and other problem?
Anyone have experience with this and any suggestions on how to deal with GM. It started buring while under warranty, but it is out of warranty now.
