  1. I've attached a pic of my VIN I was hoping to have someone verify my type of motor and possibly suggest a place to get parts, I've removed all the heads/lifters/VLOM. Was planning on replacing VLOM, lifters/followers/trays, gaskets and head cover on drivers side for the oil consumption issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Trying to find parts for LH6 5.3l M type lifters/vlom/gaskets. 2008 Sierra 1500
  3. Had the P0304 code, removed valve cover appears lifter on intake cylinder #4 is bad no movement on rocker. Plan to replace all lifters and trays, as well as valve cover on drivers side to fix oil consumption issue. I'm a weekend mechanic, so replacing cam and all the other associated parts to delete the AFM seems expensive and out of my comfort zone. So my question is does the Range disabler work? I'd rather spend $200 on that instead of $2000 for other potential fix? Thanks
  4. Thanks for all the suggestions, I'm self employed and it's a work truck, I've already redone ABS, brakes and a new transmission, so I'll probably be holding on for a while. I'm just running out of money so I was hoping to fix myself. I did compression on #2, used Autozone rental, that was beat to hell and missing parts, but got a 90ish PSI on idle and a 150ish on rev. On cylinder #4 had no compression reading, new plug on #4 had more oil than #2, I knew I should've stayed with my Fords
  5. Driving and sabilitrak/traction control lights came on then truck started running sluggish. Got a P0304 misfire(Innova 6030p scanner), changed plugs, wires on all cylinders also replaced coil on #4. Have ticking noise now, loudness increases with revving of engine. Was going to do compression check next, haven't checked injector yet, I was wanting to know which cylinders are involved with AFM, and if it could be a collapsed lifter which AC Delco lifter I would need? Thanks for any suggestions.
  6. Recently blower motor began blowing on and off, replaced both motor and resistor. Now it has completely stopped, I feel heat coming from vents and defrost. I can hear a sound in the dashboard like something is happening. Checked all the fuses I think are related, have not replaced FAN CNTRL Relay in underhood fuse box. Saw a youtube video talking about ground wires, wondered if this could be the issue. Would appreciate any help, I'm new to GMC, I've always owned Ford trucks. I have heard from other people 2008 was notorious for electrical issues. Thank you
