USB 3.0/3.1 drives not working for MP3 playback

I just bought 2014 Sierra and been trying to get usb music and videos working. I did not get videos ( to work, but i did get the music to work and your post helped, so thank you. I couldn't get it to work with a 3.0 usb stick, but it did work with a 2.0 stick. I wish there was more detailed instructions for this feature. Again, thanks for pointing out the 3.0 issue.
