  1. Hi everyone, Got a question about tow mirrors and whether or they would fit. I put tow mirrors on my 03 silverado a couple of years ago. I recently bought a 2014 silverado with 50k on it and would like to put the mirrors on that but I'm not sure they'll fit. The straight flat side of the 14's mounting plate thats near the window is 10 1/2 inches high were as the 03's is 9 1/4. There would be a gap if they bolts matched up.
  2. I'm in the process of installing a aftermarket brake controller on my 2014 silverado 1500. I'm going to mount the control knob somewhere on the light switch panel. While watching a video on how to remove the light switch trim I noticed 3 different wiring connections. One for the light switch, another for the 4wd and one that snapped into the back of the small cubby at the top of the panel. Anyone have an idea as to what the 3rd plug would be for??? There's nothing electrical in the cubby so why the plug? I haven't pulled my trim off to see if I also have the mysterious plug just curious as to what it could / would go to.
  3. Hi folks, I have an 03 Silverado that I want to replace the stock mirrors with tow mirrors. Currently the mirrors are powered but no heat or turn signal and I do have the DL8 code listed on the sheet in the glove compartment. My question is if I buy mirrors with power, heat and turn signal is the turn signal going to work? I know that the heat will operate off the rear window defrost but is there wiring already in the door panel for the turn signal option? I now the last time I had the door panel off there are 3 sperate plugs and an open port for something to plug into it but Im not sure what. Any ideas what that open port could be for? or is there a RPO code that would indicate theres an option there for a turn signal in the mirror? I dont really need the turn signal in the tow mirror its just an option that I would like to have considering how folks drive here in NY and dont pay attention 98% of the time while on the road. Any information you guys/ gals can give me would be greatly appreciated- Thanks Mike
  4. well I will do the work myself just for the simply fact that the local ford places here in my area are all owned by 1 company and their a bunch of asshats.
  5. Have an 03 Silverado that I'm doing some upgrades on to get her ready for camping season. Right now Im going to replace the brakes and would like the minimum thickness of both front and rear rotors to determine if I need to buy them as well when I place my parts order. Thank for the help, Mike
