2015 Sierra Denali. New Trans at 40K Cam and Lifters at 50k. Brought it in last December. Told them Motor and Trans both experiencing same problem plus oil pressure at idle under 30psa. I lobbied for new motor and transmission. The dealer found bad lifter in #8 intake. Wrote up as replace cam and all lifters. Transmission was serviced by putting special fluid per GM I was told. I asked what happens if I have a problem with either repair when picking up the truck. I was told 3/36 warranty Now at 102k less than 3k miles later. Engine started running making noise. Back to the dealer. I get the call. You need a motor you dropped an exhaust valve. An exhaust valve? Yes sir I'm told. You had an exhaust valve break in #8 cylinder. Okay, its warranty right? No sir. Why? "Well sir it wasnt related to the repair made. This has nothing to do with the cam and lifters or intake valve." After reviewing the original repair order I also noticed that although the repair order was written up replace Cam and all lifters, they only replaced 8 lifters which I'm guessing were the intake lifters and they did not replace the exhaust lifters. I have always been told you dont use old lifters on a new cam. I am supposed to speak with service manager today. They have offered to pay half. My end $3500. I think they should pay for the repair and the new repair is related to the previous work. Any suggestions?
