  1. Sounds like you have a decent dealer with good service. New instead of repair seems prudent given the newness of the gas-Alison combo. Report back when you have update. Wonder if Chevy will inspect removed transmission to get an idea of what went wrong?
  2. Thanks for the replies thus far. The new truck will be a farm truck so I'm inclined to stay simplier without giving up too many features. My farm boss, aka spouse, is a bucket set lover whereas I have no opinion on the matter.
  3. Can one order a 2024 GMC Sierra HD SLE trim with bucket seats? Or do you have to go up to the SLT trim level?
  4. I'm wondering if this is a lifter problem or something on the electrical side to that cylinder that could be an easy fix.
  5. Looking forward to driving both the Silverado or Sierra HD when they hit my local dealerships. At the moment I have not seen many dealers showing window stickers on their websites for the 2024 HDs. Would like to see how these first trucks for the dealers are being configured.
  6. Thanks Dr1ft3r. The forks, with loader arms, on my John Deere tractor reach pretty far into the bed so that won't be an issue. Currently the forklifts I use would put ~20% of the load weight onto the tailgate going in and possibly 40% when pulling out. Typically my loads are 1500-2000lbs evenly distributed on a palate or IBC tank. I'm pretty much convinced the standard tailgate is best for my application.
  7. Thank you for the replies. My gut feeling is that the solid standard tailgate will serve the transport of materials better with in and out loading with tractor forks or forklift. The only interest I have with the multipro tailgate is that as I get older, and the trucks get taller, any assistance is welcome to get up into the bed.
  8. At some point this year I plan to purchase a GMC Sierra HD for farm use. Frequently I have to load bulky items into the truck bed with a forklift. My gut feeling is that I should stay with the standard tailgate vs the multipro tailgate. Anyone using a multipro tailgate with a forklift? Any thoughts?.....Thank you, Gary
  9. Looking forward to when GM provides configuration & spec details on the new 2024 GMC & Chevy HDs that are at the lower trim levels. Would also like to see pricing and order start dates. My guess is that they do not want to disrupt/slow down orders on 2023s at this time.
