  1. Unfortunately, this is only for Android Auto. General Motors and Google made the software for the truck’s refresh radio. They purposely gave CarPlay this limitation. Only Android Auto has the option to collapse or hide the sidebar. There are ways to get around this software favoritism. But it requires people to buy dongles.
  2. It might’ve been glitched. There has been times when the sidebar crashes. Then whatever is displayed gets stretched to the side. If anyone wants full screen CarPlay. The cheapest route is buying a Carlinkit TBox Lite on Amazon for about $60. Switching it to use the Android Auto Mode. Then connecting CarPlay to it. the truck sees the TBox as Android Auto and gives it full screen permission. Then the iPhone connects to the TBox and Projects to it. A little sluggish perform but everything seemingly works fine.
  3. When it doubt, nuke it. Do an Infotainment factory reset and see if having a fresh GMAndroid fixes it. OR - Let it sit without the battery connected for a good hour or so. - Delete the Truck from your Phone's CarPlay. Settings > General > CarPlay > Remove Chevrolet/Mylink. Turn off the phone - Delete the Phone from the Truck. Phone > Your Phone > Options? > Delete. Turn your phone back on and attempting connecting like new again? I've had it happens a few times. I either ignore it and it works eventually. Or go through the motions of deleting the Phone/Truck from each of their settings.
  4. Maybe it ficked the "Service": Taillight, Turn signal, Headlight issue... because fixing lightbulbs with software updates is a thing.
  5. On the models with the new infotainment system, yes. There is a feature that displays it only within the instrument cluster new text messages. I'm too far from my truck to care to walk, but I was just poking around the other day and saw this option. Haven't tested it since I'm always on CarPlay anyways. Check either Privacy or under Display I think. Basically under whatever deals with your phone and car connection.... maybe Home screen > Phone > yourphone >Options >
  6. Dig around the settings. I vaguely remember seeing an option for "Fast Boot". Depending if that's available for you and whatever it's set to. It might skip the animation to present the cluster/Apps quicker. Worse comes to shove... Factory Reset (You'll loose all the things you signed into, apps downloaded etc) and see if it comes back
  7. When headed to work last week the entire passenger side light assembly just didn't work. I didn't notice until I had to do a right turn and pulled over to check it out. I cycled through all the lights and would only get "Service Front..." message when doing a right turn. It was still sunny out and so I just turned off Auto Light control. Turned the lights on (had an idea) and kept driving. By the time I got to work (~30min later). No messages and all lights were working just fine as if nothing ever happened. Living in Alaska I have about two more months before it's completely dark during my commute. I've had the turn signal issue about every other week or so. Dealership appointments are already into January. Might as well schedule one and see what happens.
  8. I rented a Bolt not too long ago with a screen that seemed similar enough and had full screen CP. Unless one of those aftermarket mod business can load some kind of trick, we won't see it. It's 100% GM limiting it with their custom Android Automotive OS. I dug around a tech forum and their Android Automotive OS section was pretty dead. Oh well. Add it to the list of annoyances.
  9. On the 13.4in Infotainment screens has anyone heard or know of a way to get Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to take up the whole screen? Since GM is dictating what can and can't be full screen. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay can easily scale up so it's not a limitation on the phone software. You can download Apple and Google developer simulators that scale them up to ridiculous resolutions and aspect ratios. So clearly it's GM forcing the phone projection to only the middle screen, but they let the built-in Google Maps take up the whole screen. Since the trucks are using Android you can enable the built-in developer options, but none of the settings it unlocks do much. Even the usb debugging option doesn't connect to a computer unless there's a specific HMI usb port for it.
  10. I just picked up my 24 LTZ 4 days ago. Got the Left Turn Signal Lamp message and the fast flashing this morning. My previous 2018 1500 gave me similar messages and fast blinking after I had replaced one of the taillights. I doubled checked the connector and never saw it again. So my first attempt later today will be to do something similar on this new truck. Unplug some cables, double check the pins and make sure it's plugged in all the way. Along with leaving the battery unplugged for a good bit. By the sounds of this and some of the other issues on the forum I'm reading about. I wouldn't be surprised that assembly lines are being rushed more than usual. Which is leading to half-assed work = Loose connections, bolts, half-filled liquids etc. My local dealership appointments are booked through December. Driving 7 hours to the next closes dealership a day to get told "Can't duplicate complaint" is a hard pass for now.
