  1. I believe if you have solar and a generator the power that's charging the battery sends power back to the truck and confuses the truck controller so you get the code. I have both on my 38' TH so I got the error message almost immediately when I had power switched on in the RV while hooked up to the truck. I'm sure someone will be by to be the expert on the matter. BUT the only way the stealership will change out the controller is if you get the code.
  2. I was also in the same boat concerning the trailer error code. I took my 24 3500 DRW to the stealership and they pulled the code. Come to find out that the code does not show up on the Banks iDash. Talking to the service guy, the Banks wont pickup the communication code.. Weird.... But they pulled the C code and replaced the module, did an software/firmware update to the truck and did the tailgate recall. Suprisiingly, it was done in a day...
  3. I'm not so sure about that. Maybe where you are located. Bob Moses ceramic is pretty legit. They have offices all over the SW. As long as you do your part, they take care of you. So far I've had no issues with them on anything I've taken to them.
  4. Well bro, all I can say is that dirt, mud, and road grime does not really stick to my truck. Sure it gets dirty but I don't have to scrub the truck. I just use the Di water with the foam cannon and wash off with Di water and I don't have to dry. I can wash my truck in like 20 minutes and it looks like the day I bought it. The undercarriage is the only part that gets dirty but I use the pressure washer for that - when needed. As far as DI water, I bought a system so I can wash my Harley, RV, Truck, and boat that's all been ceramic coated and it's night and day difference. I guess we see value in different places. I never have to wax my truck, never have to worry about the paint fading. I live in Vegas so to me, it's worth the cost.
  5. I had my 24 3500DRW done by Bob Moses. Cost me $1900 and I have a 8yr warranty. There are some caveats to keeping the warranty though, Dont go through any car wash and only use DI water, use their soap and polish and once a year I gotta take my vehicle to them so they can check the coating and apply if needed. I bought a DI system and use their soap with a really good foam gun. Washing my vehicle is pretty easy and never have to dry. To me it's well worth it.
  6. I have a small camera that is mounted under the bed rail and is powered by the 5pin trailer connection. The camera connects via Bluetooth to an app. I use it to get the right depth on the Goosneck ball. I use the truck bed camera to align up. It works good but having an OEM camera by GM so all of the cameras are on the dash.
  7. Got pics of them installed.
  8. Good to know. I will be also watching that.
  9. Since the 2024s are different in many ways from the 2020-2023 series trucks. I had to find and figure out the TPMS for my trailer through the pain of learning and of course, money... From what I found, there are 2 versions of TPMS sensors for the trailer and both have the same part number. The part number is 86803857 These sensors are in 2 different configs with the same part number - 4T and 4T+ The 4T comes with the truck - in the glove box when delivered on the first-gen 2024s (if you have this option.) These TMPS sensors only go up to 102psi. GM then came out with version 2 of these sensors = 4T+ and this TPMS goes to 150psi. If you go to the dealership to get them, check them cause both sensors have the same part number. As we know the parts counter at most dealerships are not the sharpest guys so chances are, they know nothing. I know this because of a very frustrating process that I had to go through. If your parts counter guys are on the ball, then good for you...:) Something else, buying from GM these sensors come with a 2yr warranty. If you buy from eBay or someplace else then you don't get the warranty. I wanted the warranty option because when I'm out with the RV, chances are, a dealership will have the sensors if I need to replace one. I am old enough to know that I hate breaking tires down. So I took my trailer to Discount Tire and had them install the sensors for me. Now I had to do this twice. WHY? Because I had the 4T sensors with 4t+ on the RV tires - didn't know the difference yet... After doing all 6 tires and 4 of them reporting closely to 110psi and 2 of them reporting 102psi, I had to pull them and look at the sensor. That's when I found out the difference. Then going back to the stealership and asking them to check for the correct TPMS (4T+) and they had them. The parts counter guy was shocked because all of the sensors with the PN: 86803857 were in the same package but different sensors. Luckly the guy was cool and swapped the ones I needed. Back to Discount Tire.... After getting them installed we had to get them assigned in the truck display for my trailer. That was an official ******-Show. We tried for over an hour and could not get it to work with their TPMS tool. So I left pretty frustrated. Got home and decided to do the "manual" method that GM gives you on the display. I deleted the saved trailer from trying at Discount and started a new trailer and did the manual method. That is, air down/up the tires and let the system do the configuring. BOOM it worked like a champ. In fact it was a fast process and one that I suggest all you do. No need to buy the tool (IMHO). Here is a pic of the trailer and sensors. Each tire was set to the correct RV tire pressure - 110psi. During the process, the tires were giving me crazy numbers that didn't match the pressure I put in the tires. I had to drive around for a bit and monitor them. After 5miles or so they started to get better. I am assuming that when driving for longer times the sensors will work better and more accuratly. My next plan is to drive with the RV attached for about 20 miles or so and then check the pressure the sensors give me on the truck display to what is actually in the tire so if they are off then I at-least know what that value is. In the end, I know the 4T+ sensors work for the higher psi tires that some of us need. I hope this info helps you. Chop.

  11. Morimoto has them. They are clear and when the lights are on they are amber and red. On a silver truck they will look great.
  12. Fellas, don't flame me but who has had a dealership install the package? What was the cost? I'm pretty handy but just don't feel like doing this. Maybe it's old age or laziness. But I am seriously considering having the stealership do the install - as long as it's under $400 dollars to do it. I wonder what the book says for install time?
  13. Having owned Firestone and now Airlift, I like them both and to be honest there is not much difference between performance. They did their job and did it well. Never had any issues. I have moved from the 2500HD platform to the 3500HD Dually platform and looking at bags for my truck. I like all of the players in this market place but I think one maker is not talked about. So let's talk about the Readylift AirIQ system. I don't know much about them and wanted to discuss if any of you are or have used their product.? One of my must-haves is a compressor dual capacity. I do want to put a 2gal tank on so I can add air when I go to the desert. Yes, I have the room to carry a pancake compressor but having the tank on my Firestone system was great and afforded me not to carry it around all the time. I know that you can add a tank to Firestone, not sure about Airlift. ReadyLift has this option and I'm leaning towards the ReadyLift AirIQ system. Not sure why apart from the look.... But I'm not sure about the bag placement with this system. All the other brands use the jounce location. ReadyLift does not. It puts the bags over the springs. What I don't know is how that affects the OEM suspension doing its job. Having the bags over the spring pack, do the bags now take the brunt of the load or work in combo.... Assuming that they do work in connection, how is the ride, how is the load ride with the bags over the spring pack? Does anyone have any experience with Readylift IQ system?
  14. I was told they can be ordered and put in a build for all GM 2024 2500/3500 trucks. When I was building an ultimate at the stealership it was offered on the 24. I just could not bring myself to buy a $112K truck. I just couldn't... So I got a 2k used 3500HD High country for $82K instead. Here is the photo that salesman took of my switches.
