Yes. I could see where learning how to adjust mirrors could be challenging for certain people… And, 2016 Sierra Owner, I should have thanked you earlier for the info on being able to move buttons on the display. You were trying to give helpful information.

I could care less if it takes 2 seconds or 30 seconds to find and press a button. I’m still having to press a button to glance at what is going on behind the truck. Is it just my truck with limited cameras that have the 8 second timer or does this timer apply to all situational awareness cameras? I talked to the dealer today and I believe he said the invisible trailer doesn’t have the timer. I am coming from a situation where I wanted to use the 3rd brake light bed camera as a way to keep an eye on what was happening around my goose neck flatbed trailer. The timer infuriated me enough to take the time to search the web and do something I never do… post something online.

I know I’m pulling up an old post but I’m hoping GM sees this! I switched from an ‘18 to a ‘21 this year. I had added the camera package to my ‘18 and the camera on the back of the trailer with the two side mirrors on the same screen made the best rear view mirror, EVER! And now?? This 8 second only mess… Anyone, ANYONE, who thinks limiting rear view cameras to 8 seconds, probably needs all rear view mirrors set so they can only being viewed after searching through a menu for 30 seconds. And… once they have navigated through the menu and found the button to make their rear view mirrors viewable… they now only have 8 seconds to be able to view anything behind the vehicle without having to go back to the menu and find that button again. We are all about safety, right?? Anything allowing a driver to see what is behind or to the side of them should only be viewable for 8 seconds!
