  1. I added an LED strip under the tailgate with tail/brake/turn/reverse lights. I ordered the truck with the 5th wheel wiring prep so wired the strip directly to the 5th wheel wiring, where the 7 pin plug would go. It popped up as a "Trailer Connected" on the DIC so I chose "Accessory Only" on the trailering app. Then no issues. Since my Covid-build truck delivered without a few things, I didn't have rear parking sensors for a while. After the dealer installed the rear sensors, the DIC says "Rear parking sensors disabled" (or similar, its not in front of me) whenever I go into reverse. I have taken it in to the dealer twice, and they can only tell me the truck thinks there is a trailer connected so defeats the sensors, though it is set to accessory only and does not show a trailer on the app. I keep insisting that this is why there is an "Accessory Only" item on the menu and it should work as such. Seems to me a software issue. When they unplug the 5th wheel harness the sensors work fine so they refuse to do anything further. The only way I can see to remedy at this point is to tap into the taillight wires, which is a PITA vs where I wired it originally. Anybody else run into this or have any ideas? Thanks!
  2. Not looking for a whole replacement bumper just something small. I've seen several iterations of these but would like to find one with a step or at least a hole to shove my boot in to stand on. I have to jump to reach the hood latch to close it. Let me know if you've seen something out there I'm missing.
  3. My 22 has this feature and the instruction sticker inside the tailgate latch area. I use my inner gate a lot. I figured the ONE time I forgot to program it out would be when I had the hitch in and an instant $1000 mistake. I was going to DIY a switch but ended up getting the tailgatefix.com switch and hitch pin. It was very easy to install and works every time.
  4. Transmission has been fantastic thus far. Just turned 6400 miles. It is way better than my Ram 8 speed, which was always a gear or two too high and the power lagged when trying to downshift. Hopefully the upcoming gasser 10 speed works great. I really wanted this truck with a 10 speed but couldn't wait for it any longer. The 6 speed has been great so no regrets.
  5. I noticed this for the first time yesterday. Mine is a 2022 gasser so the hood is slightly different than the diesels. Not sure if it's any different at this interface however. Noise was loud at anywhere from 50 - 80mph and it seemed to come and go, likely with wind direction. Tried folding in the mirrors, running the wipers, etc but it stayed constant so likely this hood seal issue. After reading this thread I may try to put foam weather strippping behind the rubber seal to maybe help it stay pressed tight. Need to let everything dry out and get in there to see what options I have.
  6. New transmission installed. I picked up the truck yesterday and all seems good. Fingers crossed. I installed the Magnum steps in the dark with my LED headlamp last night. All done in 90 minutes Back at the dealer for detailing since they had it for a month.
  7. Me too! It's all still in my noggin for now.
  8. Nice work! My truck didn't come with a storage tray so I was going to fab something similar to my Rams storage box, with the folding flat panels and feet.
  9. I'll just continue piling up parts to install once I get it back. So far: Leer 650 folding bed cover Magnum steps Tailgate step lights Tailgatefix combo More bed LEDs Looking at camera systems since my parking sensors were held back
  10. I am too though its super frustrating and I'll always be suspect of the trans now. My current truck (glad I didn't sell it yet!) 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 8spd ZF has been great for 80k miles. I really hoped GM would have put the 10spd in but when I read not til 24' I went ahead and ordered the truck. I asked for a loaner and they laughed at me, saying they hadn't got any new loaners for at least 8 months. I'm going to push them for a few oil changes at least. @Black02Silverado, I 100% agree. Way too many electronics! And everything is locked down so you can't adjust/upgrade much.
  11. Thanks for this link. Nice to see a real world review. Is it fairly easy to tap the wiring back there? Also did you use a different mount than just the double sided tape? I live where the summers are 100F+ and not sure I trust the tape. Thanks for posting all of your mods along the way instead of just the finished product. Extremely helpful!
  12. The dealer received and replaced the TCM and the problem persists. They have "condemned" the transmission and are going to replace the whole thing. Of course new transmissions are on backorder. Probably another month. So I'm going to have to make the first payment and not even have the damned truck.
  13. Dealer says it's P0777 code for the solenoids. They pulled the module and tested the coils. Several solenoids are bad and they are replacing the whole control module. Parts are 1-2 weeks out. Hurry up and wait again...
  14. This sure is not what I wanted my first post to be! I finally picked up my new truck after a 6 month wait (2022 Sierra 2500HD doublecab 4x). Drove 25 miles of happiness. Parked for a couple of hours and when leaving parking brake didn't want to let go. Once released, drove away and between 1st and 2nd gear it went neutral and revved up before catching 2nd and surging forward. It won't go past 2nd gear. Pulled over and tried a restart. Same issue. Also found it will now not go into reverse- it revs the engine, then almost dies, shuddering, then revs to 4k again and settles down. All in reverse and my foot on the brake. Parked it in front of the dealer service shop with a check engine light and 31 total miles. Not freaking happy. It's real pretty though lol I'll update with results. Anybody else had this issue? Thanks, Chris
