  1. When I got my truck the dealership filled it up and then let it idle for 30-40 minutes while I did paperwork and then they did the walkthrough to show me the truck and to let the Onstar rep try to sell me a bunch of stuff via the truck's internet connection. That was neat I guess and probably a real moneymaker for GM but a waste of fuel. Initially the truck reported 10.6 mpg because of that. At 350 miles on the odometer it's up to 15.6 mpg. Just did the first fill-up. I had a $1/gallon discount so it cost ONLY $93 to put in 21 gallons of 87. My driving is at sea level, and is a 50/50 mix of city and highway. But the highway can be pretty much a parking lot at times. I think I will be lucky if I get even close to the numbers some of you mention. I will be happy if I am north of 18mpg per tank.
  2. It's my first post. Howdy. I don't know much about E85, diesel engines or REO (except for that one rock band) but you can add me to the 2.7 fan club. I just took delivery of a 2022 Silverado LT with the 2.7T HO. I read this whole thread. Mostly looking for serious posts about why people appreciate the motor or fair criticism of same. Thanks to the folks who posted up thoughtful and informative posts. It is not a V8 and doesn't pretend to be. It's not a diesel but it almost thinks it is. I really like the low RPM power delivery. The motor is sort of in its own niche. The truck drives smooth and nice, and gets better mileage than most other stuff I've had (K1500, F150, a few Expeditions 5.4L and 3.5 Ecoboost). No issues so far (knock on wood). Our plan is to pull a 6000 lb trailer. Now we'll have to see how it holds up.
