  1. Love my 2024 2500 LT gasser. The 10 speed trans keeps you in the power band of the engine and does pretty well on braking down a hill. I pull an 8k lb. travel trailer and get 7 to 9 mpg depending on the direction of the wind (unloaded I get between 16 to 18 mpg at 75 mph). I wanted the 2500 to pull this Grand Design 2670 MK trailer so that the tail was not wagging the dog. I do use a WDH to prevent significant swaying as this trailer is weight biased toward the rear. I did install Timbren bump stops but are not really needed since the WDH raises the rear end to make the truck level and put weight back on the front wheels. I tried pulling the trailer without the WHD and let's just say it was not fun. The independent front suspension is much appreciated on long trips as I am not constantly correcting the steering to stay in the center of the lane like you do with some solid axle front ends. The only changes I would make to my truck is to have included the Convenience II package which includes the sliding rear window. I miss that during cooler weather here in Texas. I also am disappointed that Chevy does not include a center arm rest on the rear fabric seats for the base LT. Hope this helps.
  2. I used Sealight X003CHE07D LEDs for my 2024 LT. Replaced both high and low beams and they work great. No issues with the Intellibeam function.
  3. The answer is "Sort of". Between pumping a few shots of grease in each of the 9 zerk fittings and installing a steering damper (basically a steering shock absorber) the vibrations through the wheel are now not as noticeable. On rough dirt roads it has settled down considerably. Still not near as smooth and tight as my past 1500 trucks but I guess it is just a result of the archaic steering set up in these HD trucks.
  4. I got them from Tufskinz. You pick what you want it to say.
  5. I came from a '22 Ram 1500 when I purchased my '24 Chevy 2500. I was very surpirsed the first time I took the new truck down some dirt/rocky roads. I felt every vibration coming through the front end to the steering wheel. It felt like there was no grease in any of the joints and the ball joints were clattering around in thier sockets. None of my half ton trucks ever felt like that. A gentlemen on this forum told me that I should expect a little of that given the old school architecture of the front suspension (pitman arm, idler arm, etc) as compared to most new half ton trucks. I was not totally satisfied with that response. After adding quite a bit of grease to each of the 9 zerk fittings and adding a steering stabilizer to the front end, the vibrations at slow speed on a rocky road were grealty reduced. Can still feel some vibration on rocky roads at slow speeds like you mention but not near like it was. It does not feel as tight as my half ton trucks but after a year of driving it I have gotten use to the feel. On the roads at normal speeds it feels almost as tight as the half ton. Hope this helps.
  6. I tow my 8000 lb, 32' travel trailer with a 2024 Chevy 2500 HD (6.6 Gas, 10 spd Allison) and it works pretty hard pulling up hills and in a stiff head wind. Its not the weight of the trailer, it is the giant sail catching all that wind. I love the truck and use it as my daily driver. I do make lots of short trips to town (about 10 miles) and was worried about clogging up a diesel hence the purchase of the gas truck. I can guarantee that you will have non-buyers remorse if you don't upgrade to the diesel unless you just like to hear a motor drone on at 3500 rpm or higher on any kind of uphill grade. It will not be a relaxed drive in the gasser towing that much weight especially if you will be travelling in hilly or mountainous terrain. I would also purchase the SRW 3500 for the extra load capacity as it is not a large cost. Just trying to give you my insight as a person with non-buyers remorse!
  7. I have had my '24 LT for just over 10 months with just over 11000 miles and have had zero issues with it. No loss of oil and pulls my 8000 lb travel trailer just fine. Love the 10 speed transmission as it does a great job of keeping the truck in the power band and does a decent job of engine braking. It rides well for a 2500 HD. When not towing I keep the tire pressure at 60 psi to help with the ride quality. Love the truck so far.
  8. Agree that they could have made that a little easier.
  9. Just wanted to thank the GM Engineers for making it so easy to change oil in my 2024 2500 HD with the 6.6 gas engine. Having the drain plug and the filter located next to each other and easy to access makes changing oil a breeze. Fastest oil changes I have ever made. My 2022 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 and 4 wheel drive was such a pain, especially when removing and replacing the oil filter. What a mess. Love my new HD.
  10. I have it on my 2024 LT.
  11. Great looking truck! Out of curiosity, have you noticed any change in performance or mpg after install?
  12. I bought them from Tufskinz.com
  13. I have reviewed all the threads on this issue and it seems that the problem is being noted by the folks that own '20 and '21 HDs. My truck is a 2024 LT with the 6.6 gas engine. I now have 2900 miles on my truck. Since day one there have been vibrations and jiggles that I feel at speeds between 5 and 40 mph especially when turning left. Its not horrible but very annoying. At highway speeds the steering tracks straight and the vibrations/jiggles are nearly nonexistent. The jiggles feel exactly like you would feel if the tie rod ends or ball joints were worn out. I have greased all of the 9 fittings on the front end and installed a steering damper and neither have helped. I installed the damper primarily because on rutted dirt roads the steering wheel was jumping around more than I think it should. I have tried to move all the suspension parts and steering shafts by hand to see if something was loose, and everything was tight. I have read that there is a steering shaft bearing in the firewall that may be the culprit and that makes sense to me but I have not read of anyone having that replaced and the problem resolved. It seems my only option is to take it to the dealer and see what they say. I have driven half ton 4x4's a long time (both IFS and solid axle front ends) and have never felt this kind of feedback through the steering wheel. Any thoughts out there on what I should do? I love the truck otherwise.
  14. Added glossy black tailgate letters and door sill protectors. Easy mods.
