No loaner vehicle offered or supplied. I was fortunate to have a rusted out POS 2003 Ram 1500 as a backup. We've kept it around all these years just for these occurrences.
I'd prefer to not be blowing oil out on the interstate and pulling over and topping off. You never know how severe of an issue it could turn into and that's just not a situation I, personally, would want to be in while pulling my rig far from home. I understand, to each their own, but that doesn't sound like a fun trip to me.
I'm wishing and hoping I get a surprise call that the parts have come in, but at some point I'll have to make a decision.
LOL, this is funny. I wouldn't bother contacting them. After 50 days in the shop, I finally just went to pick my truck up. I'm now just driving it around with an oil leak while I continue to wait for the parts that are on galactic back order.
They offered to cover a couple months of car payments for my troubles. My payments are tiny so it was a joke. Might potentially be worth it for someone who did 100% financing, but means nothing to me.
I'm still seeking alternative solutions.
Good luck to anyone who has this oil leak. The outcomes are bleak.
I still have an RV stranded 400 miles away and I'm not sure I want to risk going to get it with this truck for fear the current leak could turn into a catastrophic blow out and leave me stranded on the interstate with a broken down truck and my 5th wheel.
I'm definitely not in a good place right now with this truck.
My understanding is that once they know about it, if you then keep it and keep driving it and blow the engine then warranty is denied. But i could be wrong, just what i was told by an adviser at a bmw dealer.
46 days and dealer informed me they are still waiting on parts even though i was told parts were on the way 2 weeks ago from today.
Went this morning to remove all my personal belongings and 5th wheel hitch from the truck.
Looks like it.
Mine has been at the dealer 45 days today. I was told a week and a half ago that the part was finally being delivered
I didn't press the issue and just assumed it would get fixed and I'd be on my way. Clearly, that did not happen.
Good luck getting a part.
33 days in the shop out of service with no indication a part will ever be available. I called in for an update and was told my service advisor is no longer employed by the dealership. Never received any call from anyone to let me know. It’s a complete flustercluck.
RV is stranded 400 miles away and i have no alternate means to get it home. Professional grade my ars.
2024 GMC 3500 DRW Denali with RAM Longhorn Brown leather seats, and 6.7 powerstroke HO. And turning radius of F450. All the digital gauges from super duty, and led bed lighting with bed switch.
That’ll pretty much do it for me.
Just be warned, if you buy it used and it breaks down and they can’t get parts, you have very little recourse. For that type of money I’d go for new over used to be protected by lemon laws.
Might be something to consider given 24 parts supply is terrible. My truck has about the same mileage as the one you are considering and has been in the shop going on 20 days straight waiting for parts.
One could hope. So far, gm customer service indicated they’d be no help other than just relaying statuses. Not quite sure how echoing my service adviser helps, but i guess that’s their thing.
It was the oil cooler leaking. Parts on backorder with no ETA.
Already been in shop for 16 days and no end in sight.
Maybe I'll get lucky. Going to stay hopeful.
