  1. How old is your truck?
  2. Black chrome spray paint: https://www.autozone.com/paint-and-body/specialty-paint/p/rust-oleum-chrome-black-premium-custom-spray-paint-10oz/892963_0_0 Im wrong. I didn’t know it was a work truck.
  3. I’m sure the color is called black chrome. That’s what’s on the newer trucks that come with black bumpers.
  4. No, the 6.6L L8T engine does not have DFM (Dynamic Fuel Management); it is specifically designed without any cylinder deactivation features like AFM (Active Fuel Management) or DFM, making it a preferred choice for engine builders due to its consistent power delivery across all cylinders
  5. I have a 2012 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 gas engine with 100,000 miles on it . A year after buying it new it started a clicking noise that came from underneath the passenger side of the truck when it is cold. I took it back to the dealer while still under warranty to get it diagnosed and fixed. They kept it overnight so they could start it cold and hear it. I went back and the technician and shop manager told me it was an emission valve clicking that sends gas fumes to the charcoal canister. I said replace it. But they told me the new one would do the same thing. Now I’m very tired of hearing it and I want to fix it. What is the best route for this?
  6. Last year I ordered a 2024 Silverado 2500 HD LTZ. When I asked about how much longer it was going to take to get to the dealer I had all sorts of answers from my dealer and GM. I chatted with GM also. They were no help. After 6 months I gave up and found one at another dealer and bought it. But that was then and may be different now. Good luck.
  7. I bought a new 2024 Silverado 2500 HD LTZ in 2023. When I start it and drive after the engine has been cold I hear a lot of noise that sounds like a turbo booster. Or something like that. It sounds a little like the cooling fan is spinning fast. After warming up it goes away. Is this something I should be worried about? Thanks for any and all replies.
  8. I’ve been wanting to make the tow hooks I have red colored. Is it better to get the hook or a cover? Cover may be easier but is it worth it?
  9. I’ve read somewhere that if the power mirrors get out of whack you can retract and extend them and that should help. And fold and open.
  10. Noise issue fixed. It’s the differential. Warranty covered. 3 Bearings, gear kit, gasket, lube and seal. “Replaced ring and pinion gear set and pinion bearings and case bearings, adjusted pinion preload to 40 in. lbs. of turning torque and adjusted ring gear backlash to .004 in and total turning torque to 55 in lbs. and reassembled and checked gear wear pattern. Reinstalled cover and filled lube.” Per invoice. Also replaced trailer brake controller due to recall. All was in warranty. There’s no noise now. 07/31/2024
  11. Just had my first oil and filter change on my new 24 Silverado 2500 HD and had the dealer diagnose a noise in the rear of my truck. High pitched noise that sounds like it from the differential. When I speed up to 55 then coast down to 45 the noise is most noticeable. Only does it between 45 and 55. After dealer checked it out they said it’s coming from a dry bearing in the differential. I’ve never heard of this. Could that cause the noise? Dealers shop has part ordered. Thanks for any replies.
  12. I have a 2024 Silverado HD. I will have to transfer the same hitch from my 1500 to the 2500. How much drop or rise is needed?
  13. Are the numbers for a 2500 HD ?
