  1. So far we are really impressed with the truck . Fit and finish seems great , handles great , everything seems to be working as it should , no rattles . So far all who have seen the truck and rode in it are impressed . They love the colour ! Hope it lasts until I no longer can drive as I'm not a spring chicken any longer ,LOL !
  2. Hi Pryme . Yes I read your response and did try your solution but must have skipped past the transmission Temp display . I I have now located the available read out and happy that I can access it . So Thank You for solving the that for me !
  3. Okay looking at Sheer Comfort seat covers they are made of Cordura . Anyone know if they are good ,made in the USA / Thank You Dunn ! What brand of LED's for headlights ? We put side steps on it from the dealer the non retractable . also put in Chevrolet all weather rubber floor mats front and back .
  4. I will try again but I think if I'm reading the owners manual correctly I need an uplevel trim ,I think its an option on the Custom, not basic to all Customs . I think if you are able to see the Transmission temp reading you need the switches on the right hand of the steering wheel . I will look back on the YouTube video from Automotive Inquiries channel and see what his dash looks like . He was the one that got me hooked on the 2500 HD . He factory ordered his though and has more options than a Base Level Custom Trim . I'm sure you have all seen his video posted about 11 months ago . On another note I don really care for the Easy Fill gas tank as someone can dump crap down into the fuel tank . Better safe than sorry comes to mind . Can you get a lockable cap from GM ? Thank You
  5. Thanks Capt Bob figured it out !
  6. Thanks fellas ! As far as seat covers have you seen the Sheer Comfort ones, they are made of Cordura . Seems we don't have that option without Custom Level Trim for the transmission temp . If I would have it there would be a set of buttons on the right hand side of the steering wheel , bummer as I wanted this . Maybe I could order from GM and install ? Or aftermarket . Banks ? Thoughts . Also I thought there would be an option to turn on the LED bed lights that are in the back corners of the box . If you had a load in you could turn them on and look in the mirror to see if all was good . Maybe that's another option. Seems the truck we bought is not that loaded with options which is probably a good thing . less to go wrong
  7. So as you know the new truck is a Chevrolet 2500 HD Custom it has the analog gauges . In the center of the dash is the little screen that you can switch to different read outs ,gas consumption etc. Does my truck have the transmission temperature available to see ? Maybe I'm not doing it correctly . Thank you
  8. Have any of you fellas put seat covers on the front seats of your 2024 2500 HD Custom . I have the split bench seat cloth seats ,so not sure how that would work . what type did you buy and how is the fit
  9. oops Questions already asked, LOL
  10. Thank you 64BAWagon ! Before we drove it home off the lot I got then to check the rear diff to make sure it was topped up not sure if they did the front but will have them check again with oil change
  11. Thanks for your replies fellas ! I thought I did a fair bit of research before buying this truck by asking questions on this great site and You Tube and other sources . But finding little things as I go along . I noticed behind the front grill they have those articulating louvers that help with warming the engine up in cold weather ? I want to do all I can to to keep this truck problem free so will follow recommend servicing etc. was thinking of getting a Protection Film put on the front end of the truck as they say the paint is not that tough .Was thinking of cutting the recommended first oil change in half to rid the oil of break in debris . If you fellas care to share any tips i would greatly appreciate it ! Thank you !
  12. Did any of you fellas put aftermarket wheel well liners in ? I'm thinking Husky brand ? Thanks
  13. Thanks Pryme
  14. Ours was Oshawa built .
  15. Thank for the information Pryme !!
  16. Thank Pryme Is It easy to do on here ?
  17. So it finally came together fellas ! It was touch and go right to the later part of the day if we were going to make the 4 hour trip up province we were going to look and test drive trucks and possibly purchase one . Locally there was not a huge inventory in what we wanted to purchase in a truck so no point in test driving one . I think they were mostly diesels or single cabs or it was always something . We had been in touch with the dealer hours away and they had ones in transit but could not pin point actually delivery day , then low and behold the day we were going to decline they messaged to say they had several 2500 HD's that just came on the lot . Okay were going ! We arrive the night before grab some dinner and hit the sack . Had a heck of time sleeping probably wound from the drive etc. Finally get to sleep then up at 8:00 AM for the 10:00 AM appointment with the salesman Steve We get to the lot and the one truck we were really interested in is on there overflow lot a few minutes away so the salesman gets on the phone and asks them to bring it over but it might take a bit to get there as they have to juggle trucks around . So the salesman says I know its not the exact trim level you were interested in but there' a Z71 here why don' t you take that for spin. Hmmm its I think $3000.00 K more so off we go . It drives real nice looks great and we are gone for about an hour . We get back and the salesman asks how do you like it ? Great we say its real nice ride . Is the other one here now ,Yes . So off we go for another hour long drive . Back at the lot the same question, How did you like it ? Real nice we say ! Cant really say the Z71 is any better . So now its time to get down to brass tacks , What are we looking at everything in, and out the door price . Oh and could you run the VIN and check everything out for SSB reaclls etc. Comes back all good ,so we now start the numbers game . They have an event with Chevrolet Canada on at the time ,free food etc. We grab some food and then the Sales manager comes back with some numbers . My wife says the number is too high . Hmmm what were you guys hoping to see . My wife says how about this much off . Hmmm not sure I can do that but will see . He comes back about a half hour later with new number . My wife says no that's not really what we would like to see . Oh Hmmm , what is it going to take to get this deal done ? Well lets get back to the original what we would like to see . 15 minutes later our salesman comes back not the sales ,manager with a new offer . We look at the offer and say that looks better will take it ! Couple of handshakes and its ours , So we purchased a 2024 2500 HD Custom Trim Level 6.6 gas engine Crew Cab in Slate Grey Metallic . We both really like it . It drove nice on the way home and no issues . I have read reports that some think the seats are not comfortable but we both took turns driving and we found the seats to be comfortable . So now we hope it will be problem free for a long time ! Thanks so much fellas for all of your replies to all of my questions !!!! Should add that the computer said we averaged 14.5 MPG that's with 2 hours of city traffic and some idling the rest highway driving If I can figure out how to shrink a file down I will post other pictures
  18. Hi Fellas Probably going to have a few questions concerning things to do with our new purchase , We bought a 2024 2500 HD 6.6 Gas Custom Trim Level #1 Brother in Law likes the truck a lot but thinks it would even look better with a leveling of the front end to get rid of the slope . What does this entail ? Is it expensive ? Does GM have a kit to do this or do you go aftermarket ? Does it affect the warranty ? #2 What do you think of getting a n3M film application on the grill and bumper as someone told me it prevents rock chips to the soft paint ? does that have anything to voiding any warranty ? #3 Want to get some sort of rust protection for the underside , Thinking about a form of a Lanolin based product . What do you recommend ? #4 Firstly will be a spray in box liner . Probably Linex ? Have any of you got this done if so what level did you get ? Thanks !
  19. In Canada they are offering 0% on 1500 not sure of all the details though
  20. We got $4300.00 off the out the door price here
  21. Thank you for the reply
  22. Pryme I’m a bit on the tired side . Where the heck did I post that and I will reply ?
  23. Man that sucks JR how the heck would that have happened ? It’s been pissing rain here so have not crawled under the truck yet but will as soon as I can . I thought they would hand me a Inspection check list but no and I should have asked for one . #1 Would it be recorded somewhere ? #2 I asked that they check all fluid levels ? #3 HD requested a Vin Search for any potential recalls , SSB etc. it came back with no issues ?
  24. Thank You !
