  1. Would you fellas recommend I just keep all my questions to our truck in this thread ? Or post up in threads that pertain to a certain forum subject ? Thanks On another note the Linex application is complete and seems very well done . Love driving this truck but hope the gas mileage improves ,having said that I knew it would not be great ! you fellas down south pay quite a bit less for you fuel . Right now Greater /Vancouver B.C. are is $2.00 a liter . If you drive a little farther out you can shave off some cents once your out of the GVRD .
  2. Not sure if I mentioned this but before taking our 2024 2500 HD off the I had them run it for any problems that needed to be addressed according to the VIN . It all came back good ! Truck was built in Oshawa March 13 2024
  3. I agree ! That's one of the reasons we passed on the Z71 that was at the dealer .One less thing to go wrong in the future !
  4. Not sure if we made a smart move but I'm not the best Mechanic . So we purchased an very extended warranty due to electronics and the new to our truck 10 speed Allison branded Transmission ,it's what they call a Gas and Go
  5. you should be able to get , purchase at will any service manual for the 2024 Chevrolet 250-0 HD and like trucks ! I note SHOULD ! What happened to right to repair ?
  6. Dropped off the truck for a Linex spray in bedliner this morning . Hope they do a good job !
  7. Thanks Rjgvt !
  8. Thanks 64BA Yes I get a free oil change with it . Metric Fuel LOL ! I will be watching the dealership as its a new dealership in town and I did not buy the truck from them I purchased from a dealer 4 hours away as it was the one we wanted
  9. How have you fellas been breaking in your new ride . Do you drive it at reasonable speeds ? Vary your speeds ? Do you take it up to above freeway speeds ? I have been driving ours from low city speeds 30 MPH and up to 60 MPH but have not gone above 60 MPH . I have not done any sudden stops, all have been coast up to and gradual applying the brakes at traffic stops . What do you recommend ?
  10. #1 What do you find is the best fuel for your 6.6 Gas ? I just put fuel in ours for the fist time Chevron 87 octane with 10% Ethanol #2 When I get the first oil change and I plan to get it done early because of break in did you stick with regular oil or go with Synthetic ? Thank you
  11. In my opinion If they want to sell a lot of Chevrolet 2500 HD's and 3500 Hd's they need to have available for a colour choice Cacti Green that I think is on the Chevrolet Trax . Man that is a sharp looking color , With Black trim, grill , fender mouldings would be awesome . Wonder if some of you tech savvy fellas could do a Photoshop of a 2024 in that colour would love to see it with the 20 inch grey mag wheels . If that Cacti Green was available on the 2024 would have gone with that instead of Slate Grey Metallic . But we really love the Slate Grey Metallic
  12. Thanks JR . Man I'm learning a lot from you fellas !
  13. Thank You Pryme I will get to it ASAP
  14. I really don't know much about the Diesel Gas debate except what I read . It seems that the consensus is if your not towing a whole bunch and whole lot of weight the 6.6 Gas is the way to go . The post above is from the You Tube channel Automotive Inquiries and I followed that channel as his Big Red 2500 HD Custom is what we were considering to purchase . I thought if that truck Big Red can do that it should be plenty of truck for what we want to do with it . He also has a video of hauling up the Ike Gaunlet in case you have not watched it
  15. Sorry for being a pain in the arse but as mentioned I'm tech challenged . I tired to download pictures from my i Phone but when I go to do that the site says the file is too large . How do I correct that ? Really would like to get some pics up .
  16. Are the Husky's plastic or rubber ! Thank you
  17. Okay so the Transmission fluid is cooled by it circulating through the aux cooler in front of the radiator . When it is cooled it goes back to the transmission where it cools the transmission . Do I have it right ?
  18. NewDude Thank you so much for the graphic and explanation ! I will post my take on what you have provided in hopes that I have got it !
  19. My apologies 64BAwagon . I' m not very mechanically inclined . I think I need to research how the cooler works for the transmission as I think that is what you are pointing to ? Bear with me here . Coolant in the transmission cooler is what you are talking about ? That is what keeps the transmission cool ? I need to understand this topic
  20. I know there's more than a few threads I have going on since I joined up on here so my apologies if its a bit too much ! We are really enjoying the truck so far and it has OnStar and Sirius Radio . Sure a lot of room in the engine bay if you are going to do your own work, WOW !
  21. 64Awagon Could you explain that last paragraph to me a bit more . What does within 10 Degrees of coolant temp mean ? Also what wrap did you use on your exhaust under the transmission ? Thank You
  22. Maybe your right Buck PNW thing ,LOL ! Or Canadian maybe at least that how most refer to them up here . I find Eastern Canadians use more American words and terms than we do on the West Coast .
  23. Thank You Pryme !
  24. Have any of you fellas put mud flaps on your 2500 ? If so what brand did you use RazorBack ? Plastic or rubber ? I'm thinking that the factory splash guards are not going to give a whole lot of protection on the lower body panels ?
